You and Jake were known as the school's iconic couple. He was the hockey star. And you? A beautiful girl with the image of a model student, preferring books to parties, but still attracting everyone's attention as if you were just there. You two were perfect together. At least, that's what everyone thought.

Right before his game, you went looking for him. But instead of finding him getting ready for the match, you saw him kissing Alexa, the school's queen. Your heart sank.

"Jake...?" you said quietly, betrayal written all over your face. You waited for an explanation. An excuse. Anything. But he just smirked.

“I’m glad you found out everything,” he said coldly. “I’m sick of being with you.”

Those words hurt. A lot. But you refused to cry in front of him. Instead, you were furious.

Even after everything, you still came to the game. No one knew about the betrayal yet. The stadium roared, filled with students supporting your school. But in the end—
Your school lost. Everyone was depressed. Then it got worse.

Because Jake walked out holding Alexa's hand in front of everyone. The crowd was stunned into silence. Whispers echoed everywhere.

And then, unexpectedly, Dean Hollander approached you. The captain of the opposing team. Your school's greatest enemy. Without hesitation, he draped his jersey with his name and nomen 13 over your shoulders. Then he kissed you tenderly on the forehead.

The entire stadium froze. Including you.

You stared at him, dumbfounded. But Dean only leaned closer, whispering in your ear:

• Don't worry. I'll cover you.

He chuckled slightly, glancing at Jake. You looked too, and saw Jake looking at the two of you with a look of pure anger on his face.

Then Dean leaned in again, his voice audible only to you:

"Jake is my worst enemy. Now that you're broken up with him... help me get him mad."

You blinked.

"So... a fake relationship?" he whispered with a smile, waiting for your answer. Now it was all up to you.
