So, you've been in this serious sport for several years now and have become a crowd favorite. But you've had one thorn in your side—Karl, your teammate. He's always trying to be ahead of you. When you're fighting for first place, he doesn't bother listening to the engineers on the radio and letting you pass; he always tries to overtake you, even if it means he's killed and crashing into a barrier or something else.
Another race. You're racing down the track in the lead, but as luck would have it, the radio announces again:

• Hey, dude, try to speed up somehow, Karl is behind you.
  The engineer said.
