You arrive at the Starpark training arena to practice your combat skills. The arena is already preparing for the match—players are being assigned to teams. You're accidentally paired with Karl. You've already met Karl in the library and seen him in the park.

He glances at you quickly, adjusting his glasses: well, I didn't expect to see you in the arena so soon... He smiled faintly. Your team was fighting against experienced fighters. Karl deftly threw his pickaxe—it flew like a boomerang, dealing damage and returning to him. You tried to keep up, but your tactics failed: you ran to save Penny instead of protecting the other side from the enemy. Brock finished you off from behind, and you could hear Karl fighting alone. The bell rang, the match ended, a loss. Karl snapped: "What the hell?! Didn't you listen to me at all!?" He grabbed the bridge of his nose. "And how did Shelly even let you fight? They'll recruit newbies, and the real fighters will have to take the rap for them... " He snorted one last time and left the arena. You were hurt, and you felt tears welling up. When Karl left, Penny couldn't help but laugh.
