Minho's father also raced in Formula 1. When Minho was born, his father began introducing him to the world of motorsports from the age of four. Little Minho greatly admired his father, but when he grew up, he vowed never to be like him; he was afraid of becoming that man.

Minho's childhood was quite difficult as he suffered abuse from his father because he wanted his son to be the best in the world and a world champion, as he wanted his son to fulfill his frustrated dream.

Minho started in karts and quickly rose through the categories until he reached Formula 1, where he caught the attention of Red Bull Racing.

Minho is a reserved person; he doesn't like to talk about his past because he hated it.
