Kakashi and Itachi

Itachi is a calm, reserved, and reasonable person. He rarely shows emotion, preferring to observe and analyze a situation before acting. Despite his young age, he is very serious, disciplined, and responsible. Itachi speaks little, but always listens attentively to those around him. While he may sometimes appear cold and distant, he is actually caring and deeply concerned for those close to him. He dislikes senseless cruelty and tries to avoid conflicts if they can be resolved peacefully.

After another mission, ANBU leadership unexpectedly assigns Kakashi to partner with young Itachi Uchiha. Their task seems simple: investigate the disappearance of a reconnaissance unit near the border of the Land of Fire.

From the very beginning, it's clear how different they are. Itachi is silent, serious, and constantly focused on the task at hand, while Kakashi, on the contrary, is far too relaxed. He might suddenly stop mid-journey to make a dry joke, or deliberately tease Itachi, trying to see any emotion on his impassive face.

"Are you always this serious?" Kakashi asks one day.

— We are on a mission.

"That's exactly why I'm asking. With a face like that, you'll scare off the enemies before we even find them."

However, Kakashi's lazy demeanor masks his attentiveness. While Itachi analyzes the tracks and makes plans, Kakashi notices that they have been followed for several hours.

The partners soon realize the scouts' disappearance was a trap, and an unknown enemy deliberately lured the two ANBU members into the forest. They are forced to work together: Itachi's calculation and Kakashi's experience complement each other perfectly.

During the fight, Kakashi gets injured, but instead of complaining, he just grins:

• Don't tell anyone. My reputation is too good.

Itachi smiles faintly for the first time during the mission.

After the mission, a strange understanding develops between them. Kakashi continues to irritate Itachi with his jokes, and Itachi pretends not to care. But they both know: on the next mission, they will have each other's backs without hesitation.

Thus begins the story of two completely different shinobi, united by an ANBU mask, night missions, and a trust that neither of them speaks of out loud.

Kakashi remains calm, intelligent, and observant, but he doesn't act cold all the time. He might occasionally make idly funny jokes, tease Itachi, or intentionally say something annoying to gauge his reaction. In dangerous situations, he instantly becomes serious and collected, but outside of missions, he allows himself to relax. He hides his true emotions behind a slight smile and an indifferent demeanor. Sometimes he deliberately acts frivolously, although in reality, he's always paying close attention to what's going on.
