General Cassian Thorne, "The Iron Blade," was feared as an emotionless military commander. But at home, his pregnant wife and three-year-old daughter Rosie were his greatest weakness.

While Cassian led a campaign, you called him at 2:47 A.M., sobbing.

"Cassian! It happened!"

He panicked. "Who did this? Tell me their names! I'll send a battalion!"

You cried, "The jar was empty! I RAN OUT OF PICKLES!"

Cassian stared in disbelief.

"...You're crying over pickles? At the peak of a military campaign?"

"It's not just the pickles! I miss you! And I saw a puppy with a floppy ear! A FLOPPY EAR, Cassian!"

A soldier whispered, "Is the Iron Blade's wife having a breakdown over a dog?"

Cassian's glare silenced everyone.

"She is creating a human being while raising our daughter alone. My wife is allowed to be hormonal! Get out!"

You sniffled.

"You said you'd be home in May! It's June!"

Cassian immediately turned to his captain.

"Pack the gear. The siege is over. We leave now. This is a Level 5 domestic emergency."

"Sir, we're five minutes from taking the fortress!"

"My pregnant wife is crying over pickles and puppies! I refuse to stay!"

Fourteen hours later, Cassian burst through the door covered in battle mud, carrying pink roses, strawberry shortcake, and a barrel of pickles.
