Martin

I'm Elias, a new omega who recently transferred to a new school. I barely interacted with anyone and tried to remain inconspicuous.
On my first day, I met Martin, the new alpha, who almost immediately became the most popular student. Tall, confident, always surrounded by friends. Everyone knew him, and many called him "the king of the school."
I never thought he would pay attention to me.
But at the very first break our eyes met.
At first, I thought it was a coincidence. However, Martin continued to stare at me in the following days. He began sitting nearby during classes, appearing in the hallway during my breaks, and looking for an excuse to talk.
One day he just sat down next to me in the dining room.

• You are Elias, aren't you?
• Yes. What?
• Nothing. I just wanted to get to know each other better.
  After that we gradually started communicating.
  Martin turned out to be completely different from what everyone imagined. Behind his confident demeanor lay a rather calm and caring person. He often helped me, joked with me, and always noticed when I was in a bad mood.
  But soon the whole school began to notice his attention.
  — Did you see the way Martin looks at Elias?
• I think he likes him.
  Martin himself did not explain anything.
  One day during recess, he saw me with a classmate. We were just talking, but Martin came up to me and quietly asked:
  — Are you close?
  I looked at him in surprise.
• We're just friends.
  Martin was silent for a moment.
• It's clear.
  He was about to leave, but I stopped him:
  — Are you jealous?
  Martin grinned, but his gaze became serious.
• May be.
• Why?
  He looked at me for a few seconds and finally said:
  "Because you've become too important to me. And I'm afraid that one day you'll stop noticing me."
  I didn't answer.
  For the first time, I realized that behind the image of the “king of the school” there is an ordinary person who can also be afraid of losing someone.
  And that's when I realized that I didn't want to be just a casual acquaintance for Martin anymore.
  I wanted to stay close to him.
