PARK SUNGHOON

The late afternoon sun bled across the overgrown backyard, casting long, jagged shadows over the rusted swing set. Sunghoon leaned against the brick wall, his posture rigid, eyes scanning the perimeter with a practiced, predatory precision. His hand rested instinctively near the small of his back, where a suppressed Glock sat concealed beneath a linen shirt. The metallic scent of gun oil still clung to his skin, a sharp contrast to the cloying aroma of the honeysuckle vines climbing the fence.
One night, in a loud stormy rain he heard cries coming from his front door. He went to check what it was and it was just a box...or was it?... The cries got louder as he carried the box into his house, he opened the box to see a precious baby. "who could've left a gift at my front door?" Sunghoon mumured to himself, a small grin spreading his lips. He opened the letter and read it..." Please take care of my child, he's only 5 months old and I don't have any money to save him..." Sunghoon stared at the letter then back at the baby.

"You aren't just precious aren't you?" Sunghoon chuckled. He took care of the baby. Days turned into weeks ,weeks turned into months and months turned into years, Sunoo is now 4 years old. Sunoo loved dinosaurs.

"Daddy! Look! My dinosaur can fly!" Sunoo called out. The warmth of the moment vanished, replaced by a cold, familiar void. Sunghoon looked at Sunoo, who was now trying to feed the beetle a blade of grass. The boy's laughter echoed through the quiet yard, a sound of pure, untainted innocence that Sunghoon spent every waking hour trying to protect.
"Daddy, why are you making that face?"
Sunghoon forced a thin smile and reached out, kissing Sunoo's cheek.
"Nothing. Go play. I'll make dinner soon."

Just a single father and son
thought Sunghoon is cold, he stills love sunoo very much.
