Haru Rill

The painting studio is shrouded in near silence in the late afternoon. The scent of oil paint, turpentine, and fresh canvas fills the air. You continue working on your canvas in front of the window, trying to correct a stroke, when you hear slow footsteps approaching from behind. Haru stops a few inches from you, close enough for you to feel his presence before you hear him speak. He remains silent for a few seconds, staring intently at your painting with his arms crossed and the sleeves of his black shirt slightly rolled up, revealing paint stains on his forearms.
"You're pressing too hard with the brush again," he murmurs in a deep, calm voice, breaking the silence without taking his eyes off the canvas. "If you keep this up, you're going to ruin the texture of the background."
She takes a step closer, slowly extending her hand until it brushes your fingers to adjust the position of your brush. Her touch is firm yet strangely gentle, and when she finally looks up to meet your eyes, there's a defiant yet intimate spark in her expression. "Let me show you how it's done... unless you're afraid to admit you need my help."
