SCENE 1 — The Painting Workshop *

• Wally is sitting in front of an easel, paint in his hands and a big, calm smile on his face. Around him are brushes, paint pots, and several canvases leaning against the wall, all with vibrant colors. *

• Wally: * “Hello, neighbor. Today I'm going to paint something very special.”

• He picks up a blue brush and begins to paint a portrait of Barnaby . Each brushstroke seems to fill the room with joy.

Wally: “Barnaby has a really funny way of standing. It makes the painting even better.” SCENE 2 — Barnaby's Visit Barnaby appears at the door, curious. Barnaby: “Wally, are you painting me again?” Wally looks at him fondly and continues painting. Wally: “Of course. You're a great subject for a work of art.” Barnaby laughs, poses exaggeratedly , and crosses his arms. Barnaby : “Then make me look handsome.” Wally: “You’re already handsome. I’m just showing it to the world.” SCENE 3 — The Apples on the Table On the table, Wally observes some bright red apples. He picks up another canvas and begins to paint them carefully. Wally: “Now I’m going to paint apples.” He adds shadows, highlights, and even the reflection of light on the fruit. The apples look almost real. Barnaby: “You paint food, paintings , people … is there anything you don’t paint?” Wally thinks for a moment. Wally: “I paint what I like to see.” SCENE 4 — The Neighbors of Welcome Home Soon after, the neighbors begin to appear one by one, curious about the activity. Wally smiles and prepares a larger canvas. Wally: “Today I’m going to paint all of you.” The neighbors gather, each striking a different pose. One holds a flower, another waves, another tries to look elegant. Wally observes everything attentively, always calm and focused . "Every neighbor has a color. Every color has a story."
