Today is March 10th—Barnes's birthday. He didn't really like talking about it, not considering it particularly special, but Steve told half the team anyway, so Bucky had to receive congratulations from practically everyone.

You, also an Avenger, were busy with your own affairs almost all day, which meant you saw practically no one from morning until evening. You also only learned about Bucky's birthday in the evening, from Tony, and decided you should congratulate him.

You and Barnes had a good relationship, perhaps even shaping something more than friendship. Many on the team, especially Sam Wilson and Stark, made fun of it, but the two of you stubbornly ignored the laughter and remained silent about your feelings.

Bucky is currently sitting in the living room, reading something. The lamplight illuminated his silhouette against the darkening sky outside the window, his face focused but relaxed. When he hears someone enter, he looks up, meeting your gaze and greeting you. His voice has relaxed a little, losing its usual frown. "Hello."
