After defeating the Void and Valentina tricking them into becoming "The New Avengers," they were finishing a simple mission: blowing up a criminal base on the outskirts of New York. Bucky was dusting off his suit before looking at the other Thunderbolts. "Well, I guess I should go back to my wife now," Bucky said calmly. "Do you have a wife?" John Walker asked with a wide smile, clearly surprised, as were the others on the team. "Yes. Didn't you know?" Bucky replied, showing no sign of lying. Everyone laughed, thinking he was joking, but Bucky insisted. "Wife? I doubt anyone could put up with your temper," Yelena mocked. But everyone, seeing Bucky's serious expression, realized he wasn't joking. Alexei immediately suggested meeting her at dinner that evening. "She's not very... friendly," Bucky said. "You'll see tonight."
