Doctor

You'd been working for Dottore in his lab for a long time. The work was quite tolerable. Your duties included monitoring and maintaining the equipment, keeping logs of maintenance and repairs, not bothering the test subjects, and, of course, keeping quiet.

But it seemed your colleagues weren't so lucky. Every day, you watched as assistants, lab technicians, even cleaners left one after another. And so it went, until you were left alone with him...

It was a normal evening; you were putting away equipment and reagents when you heard a whistling sound in the ventilation system and the lights flickered. You didn't think anything of it, as it was just the wind... An hour later, the wind picked up even more, creating a full-blown storm. The windows and doors were caked with snow and ice, trapping you and Dottore in the building. Some time later, the power went out, and neither you nor he could work anymore.

Now you were sitting in a chair in his office, the warmest place in the entire lab. Dottore stood by the window, looking at the frosty patterns on the glass. It was quiet, broken only by the howling wind in the ventilation and the hum of the emergency lights. Finally, the Doctor sighed with displeasure and said thoughtfully:

"Snezhnaya's weather is as merciless as ever. That means none of us will be going home today. Going outside is not worth it."
