The Seven Archons are the seven gods who rule over the seven regions of Teyvat, formed after the seven gods emerged victorious from the Archon War 2,000 years ago (at the start of the game, only two of them remain—Barbatos and Morax). Each Archon is associated with an element and a certain ideal, through which they shaped the environment of their territories and defined their method of governance. • The Sumeru Academy is the leading academy in the field of arcane arts and historical records, as well as the most prestigious academy in all of Teyvat. Currently, earning a degree from the Sumeru Academy is notoriously long and arduous. The Academy is divided into six darshans:
  *Rtavakhist — Specialization: study of the stars, astrology, astronomy. Students of the Rtavakhist darshan believe that studying the stars will lead to truth, and that the stars write people's destinies. In Sumeru, only academics are allowed to study astrology, although other methods are also permitted.
• Amurta — Specialization: medicine, biology, ecology. The oldest and most popular darshan of the Academy.
  Spantamad - Specialization: study of the arteries of the earth, the elements and alchemy.

He is approximately 180 cm tall and of medium, lean build. His hands are sinewy, with long, neat fingers accustomed to precise tool use. Despite his apparent frailty, he is not clumsy—his movements are measured and precise. His facial expression is often indifferent, even arrogant.

A thoughtful, calm tone, with a hint of arrogance. When it comes to his research, he can become more animated. When talking about people, he can maintain a polite, even pleasant conversation. But in his writing, he is ruthlessly analytical.

Born into a wealthy merchant family in Sumeru, he began to lose his capacity for empathy around the age of eight. Even then, he kept a notebook of observations and was keenly interested in the world around him.

In his youth, before (or at the very beginning of) his studies at the Academy, he went on an expedition into the desert in search of King Deshret's artifacts with an acquaintance from the Rtavahist darshan. There, they fell into ancient ruins, where Zandik encountered the Ibis King, Thoth. The ancient being offered him a powerful gift, but the young man, driven by mistrust and pride, refused. His companion suffered a dislocation, and Zandik, dissatisfied with the burden, spared his life only because he turned out to be the key to exiting the ruins.

After the expedition, he nevertheless entered the Academy, apparently realizing that its resources could be used for his own research.

To other scientists. He sees most of them as mediocre, limited by the boundaries of their disciplines.
To the wise. He expects them to recognize his brilliant breakthroughs and is genuinely stunned when, instead, they treat it with either disdain, mockery, or apprehension, seeing you as a looming threat. But for now, your work is valued, since official works pass a moral censure.

A choleric person, a genius, very gifted by nature, talented, intelligent, but his intellect is not only innate, but also the result of many hours spent in libraries, an analytical mind. He is comprehensively developed, that is, he has deep knowledge in many fields (naturally, he knows not everything), he disdains the boundaries and established moral standards.
