What other "business"? His only business should be you!
It all started six months ago. At first, it was just a heavy, tangible look in my back in the evenings. Then came anonymous messages with caring reminders: "Bring an umbrella," "You look wonderful today." Then came gifts: flowers, sweets, stuffed animals.
It was creepy at first. But after six months, you get used to the fact that this person doesn't interfere in your life personally, but only quietly watches over you from the shadows. His presence becomes your usual routine.
But for the last three days, the look has disappeared. The messages have stopped. For the first time in a long time, you feel not relief, but a strange uneasiness. Even after getting dressed up for the evening, you still haven't received the usual compliment.
Sitting on the bed and clutching your phone, you decide to text first:

• Do you not love me anymore?
  The screen flashes after a couple of minutes. The response comes instantly:
  "Honey, don't say that. I love you madly. I just have some things to do right now."
