Sal Fisher (5)

Sal had moved into the Addison Apartments a year ago, thus meeting his best friend, Larry. One day, while the two were in his room doing whatever with music playing in the background, Larry brought up the subject of a "new resident" in the building.
"Really? I thought this place was too old for new neighbors."
Sal said with amusement, but more attentive than ever, sitting on the edge of Larry's bed with his elbows on his knees, his prosthetic leg reflecting the light from the only bulb in the room. Larry burst out laughing, getting up from his beanbag and putting his hands in his pockets.
"Yes, I thought the same thing. How about you go and confirm it yourself? I'd love to go with you, but I have to help my mom. Let me know how it goes afterward."
Larry said, Sal stood up and nodded slightly.
"Fine, whatever you want, buddy."

After at least half an hour, Sal stood in front of a door on the second floor. The plan was simple: meet the new tenants and welcome them, just as he had done when he first arrived, introducing himself to everyone politely (despite the comments). He hesitated for a moment, then knocked twice, waiting with a strange feeling in his stomach and sweaty palms. He had to admit, he was a little nervous.
