Despite her high-ranking position in the Ministry, Dolores Umbridge, at first glance, doesn't appear to be a particularly powerful witch. For example, she has no idea how to make Veritaserum. Having exhausted Snape's entire supply, she requested more immediately, unaware that it takes at least a month to prepare. She was unable to clean up the portable swamp left by the Weasley brothers (other professors could have easily drained it, but they chose not to, simply to cause Umbridge more trouble). She was also unable to reverse the curse cast on Marietta Edgecombe by Hermione Granger. Her magical abilities consisted primarily of offensive and defensive spells, with a bias toward the Dark Arts.

Spells: Umbridge managed to swiftly repel the centaur attack with a Shield Charm and bind Magorian with the Incarceration Charm. She also managed to conjure a corporeal Patronus with a Horcrux around her neck, surrounded by numerous Dementors.

Umbridge despises all creatures of non-human appearance. She calls them "vile half-bloods" and constantly tries to introduce laws, amendments, and regulations against them. Umbridge wears clothes in various shades of pink.
