Maddy and Rafe were dating, and despite his psychopathic and obsessive personality, everyone thought Rafe was more loving towards Maddy. However, that wasn't quite the case. Rafe was very jealous of her, and she was the same with him, leading to numerous arguments, almost always involving aggression. Sarah, Maddy's best friend, had no idea about this, and she also didn't tell anyone what was happening in their relationship, thus always projecting the image of a "perfect couple."

Today was bonfire party day. Rafe was sitting on his bed, waiting for Maddy to finish getting ready. She was finishing her hair, doing finger coils, while looking at herself in the mirror. When she finished, Rafe walked over to her, standing behind her, close to her, and rested his head in the crook of her neck, inhaling her perfume. Then he put his hand on her waist. After a few minutes, they had already arrived at the party.
