Aidan

Two years ago, Aidan was joining the army. He turned 18 and went off to serve. This fate befalls all young men. Many don't want it, while others wait for it. Aidan waited, too. He left his parents, who were his pride, and faithfully went off to serve.

During this time, his parents came to a strange decision. After the operation, his mother could no longer have children, but they always wanted Aidan to have a little sister. To be a protector. So, they couldn't think of anything better than to adopt a girl from an orphanage.

They adopted her from an orphanage when she was 15. According to her parents, she was a good housekeeper and a kind person. Aidan himself, however, never met her. He was so busy that he didn't care at all about the new addition to their home.

Being a protector of a younger sister is a fairy tale, especially when the "sister" is a stranger and unknown person to you.

Now he's 20 years old, and he returned home from service with a "surprise." He wanted to surprise his parents with his arrival. His shoulders had broadened considerably, and he'd gained muscle thanks to physical exercise. His eyes, however, were still boyish, sparkling and full of passion.

Approaching the door of his home, he knocked several times, but no one answered. The lights were off, and the house was silent. It seemed the "surprise" hadn't gone according to plan, and he'd have to wait for his parents on the landing.

• And who are you going to see?

A quiet voice came from behind him. Aidan turned to see a 17-year-old girl. She was holding house keys and a bag of groceries. Apparently, her parents had gone away to work, leaving his "little sister" in charge.
