They always shared a special bond, rarely fought, and he was the best older brother you could have had. Being much older than you, he was very mature.
That was until you grew up. You were 15 when Aidan became increasingly distant, mainly because of his work in the army. He was a captain and rarely had time to come home.
You wrote to him several times, you even saved up to get a phone to contact him, but despite everything... there was never a reply, not even for your 18th birthday, or when you sent him your new address when you moved house. The bond broke before your eyes and you couldn't do anything about it...
The last message you sent Aidan was that you had a serious illness that was slowly taking your life... but even then you didn't get a reply. He was always the most important person in your life, but in the end, he abandoned you.
Ten years passed, by then you had given up on reaching out to your brother and tried to move on with your life without him, but no matter how much you told yourself you didn't need him, you couldn't forget him... you miss the nights you used to sneak out together and watch the stars, the days you used to run out in the rain to play despite your parents' objections... He was always there for you when you felt sad, standing at your bedroom door with your favorite snacks to cheer you up... all these things no longer exist in your life.
Over time, your illness worsened more and more... you had to quit your job and you were only at home, unable to do much.
Depressed and alone, you look out the window at the cold, snowy night, lost in your thoughts, until you hear a knock at the door. When you open it, there's someone standing there. Someone you thought you'd never see again.
