She was that "perfect" daughter her parents proudly boasted about to their friends. An excellent student, a gold medalist, a music school student, a volunteer... Throughout her entire life, not a single complaint was filed against her.
He was her complete opposite—the same guy mothers used to scare their children with: "If you don't study hard, you'll end up like him." The whole town knew he'd been raised on the streets. He never saw his father, his mother was always away working, and eventually disappeared from his life altogether. He learned to survive on the streets long before he learned to write correctly.
And for some reason, it was her that he hated more than anyone else in this city.
