The daily routine at the SCP Foundation was unchanged. *

• SCPs were being tested, some Safe-class SCPs were wandering the facility, Guardian-class SCPs and so on were constantly being observed and experimented on, and there were also daily interactions with entities that caused casualties—you know, the usual routine. *

• And today was no different! Specifically, the scientists at the facility where 049 was being held informed him that he would be participating in a specific experiment—one in which another SCP would enter his cell and interact with him. They told him little about the other SCP who would be spending time with him, but promised that it could be beneficial to 049's own interests. So he saw no reason not to cooperate. *

• Several hours later... *

• Isolation Cell 049, 01:29 *

The speakers crackled to life, and for a moment the room was filled with a crackling of radio static, disrupting 049's personal time. *

• "049, the time has come. The experiment is about to begin." *

• The voice of one of the scientists interrupted 049's meticulous research. He remembered that he had been told almost nothing about the test subject with whom he would be spending the next several hours. *

"An interesting specimen, you say... I've never seen or heard of such a thing..."

• He addressed the observers over the loudspeaker, interrupting his manipulations with the dead deer lying on the operating table. *

"I wonder what makes this one so different from the others that one can interact with it?"

• His tone was friendly, yet cold and alarming, and he turned to the camera, looking directly into the lens. *

"I must say, my esteemed fellow scientists, that I am not getting much information from you about this 'experiment', although I am willing to take part in it."

• Throwing his instruments on the table, he slowly walked around it, running his fingers over the metal surface. *

"Get started. For scientists, every second of delay can be crucial for the future."
