What is SCP about?

The SCP Foundation is a secret organization trusted by governments around the world to contain and study abnormal individuals, entities, locations, objects, and phenomena that defy the laws of nature (which are always referred to as SCPs).

Classes

Classes are based on levels, for example

Safe: easy containment anomaly

keter: dangerous anomaly.

scp ANOMALY CLASSES

-Safe; Objects of the Safe class are anomalies that are easily and safely contained. This is generally due to the fact that the Foundation has researched the SCP well enough that containment does not require significant resources or that the anomalies require a specific, conscious activation or trigger. However, classifying an SCP as Safe does not mean that handling or activating it does not present a threat.

-Euclid;Euclid class objects are anomalies that require more resources to be completely contained or that containment is not always feasible. It is usually because the SCP is insufficiently understood or fundamentally unpredictable. Euclid is the Object Class with the largest extension, and it is generally a good guess that an SCP will be of this class if it does not fit easily into any of the other standard Object Classes.

-Keter;Keter-class objects are anomalies that are exceedingly difficult to contain consistently or reliably, with containment procedures often extensive and complex. The Foundation is often unable to contain these SCPs well due to not having a solid understanding of the anomaly, or due to a lack of technology to properly contain or combat it. An SCP Keter does not mean that the SCP is dangerous, just that it is very difficult or expensive to contain.

-Thaumiel;Thaumiel-class objects are anomalies that the Foundation uses to contain or counter other SCPs or anomalous phenomena. Even the very existence of Thaumiel-class objects is classified to the highest levels of the Foundation, and their current locations, functions, and status are known to few Foundation personnel other than the O5 Council.

-Neutralized;Neutralized anomalies are those that are no longer anomalous, either by being intentionally or accidentally destroyed and disabled.

scp ANOMALY CLASSES

-Apollyon; Apollyon-class SCPs are anomalies that cannot be contained, must breach containment imminently, or some other similar scenario. These anomalies are usually associated with end-of-the-world threats or a K-class scenario of some kind and require a large Foundation effort to deal with.

-Archon;Archon-class SCPs are anomalies that could theoretically be contained, but are better left uncontained for some reason. Archon SCPs may be part of the consensus reality that is difficult to fully contain or may have adverse effects if placed in containment. These SCPs are not uncontrollable - the defining characteristic of the class is that the Foundation chooses not to place the anomaly into containment.

scp FOUNDATION CLASSES

Class E;Class E is a provisional classification, applied to field agents and containment personnel who have been exposed to potentially hazardous effects, during the progress of securing and establishing initial containment under a newly designated object, entity, or phenomenon. Class E personnel must be quarantined as soon as possible and may only return to duty after being questioned and cleared by psychiatric and medical officials.

Class D;Class D Personnel are expendable personnel used to deal with extremely risky anomalies and are not permitted to come into contact with Class A or Class B personnel. Class D Personnel are typically recruited from prisons around the world and are inmates imprisoned by violent crimes, especially those that are sentenced to death. In times of difficulty, Protocol 12 may be enacted, which authorizes recruitment from other sources – such as political prisoners, refugee populations, and other civilian sources – who may be transferred to Foundation custody under plausibly suspicious circumstances. Class D personnel must undergo mandatory psychological evaluations, and must be administered a Class B amnestic at a minimum, or terminated at the end of each month at the discretion of security officials or medical personnel in the area. In the event of a catastrophic event in the area, Class D personnel must be terminated immediately unless deemed necessary by site security personnel.

scp FOUNDATION CLASSES

Class C;Class C Personnel are employees with direct access to most anomalies strictly determined to be non-hostile or dangerous. Class C personnel who have had direct contact with mind control or memetic properties must undergo mandatory quarantine and psychological evaluation as deemed necessary by security officials. In the event of a containment breach or hostile action against a Foundation installation, Class C non-combat personnel must either report the event to secure the blockade areas or evacuate at the discretion of area security personnel in the event of a breach across the entire area. the area or other catastrophic event.

Classes In the event of a containment breach or hostile actions against a Foundation facility, Class B personnel must be evacuated to a designated, safe, out-of-area location as quickly as possible.

Class A

Class A Employees are said to be essential to the Foundation's strategic operations and are not permitted to have direct access to anomalies under any circumstances. In circumstances that require Class A personnel to be in direct proximity to anomalies (as is the case with facilities housing containment units), Class A personnel are not permitted access to areas of the facility containing such anomalies and must be kept at bay. safe areas at all times. In the event of an emergency, Class A personnel must be immediately evacuated to a designated, safe location outside the area. O5 Council members are always Class A employees.

scp FOUNDATION LEVELS

Level 0 (For Official Use Only)

Level 0 security clearances are given to non-essential personnel without the need to access information involving anomalous objects or entities in Foundation containment. Level 0 access is typically maintained by employees in administrative, logistics, or janitorial positions at facilities without access to operational data.

Level 1 (Confidential)

Level 1 security clearances are given to employees with close proximity to but no direct or indirect access to information about anomalous objects or entities in containment at the Foundation. Level 1 security clearances are typically given to employees working in administrative, logistical or janitorial positions in facilities with containment capabilities or who otherwise need to handle sensitive information.

Level 2 (Restricted)

Level 2 security clearances are given to security and research personnel who require direct access to information involving anomalous objects and entities in containment. Most survey teams, field agents, and containment specialists hold a Level 2 security clearance.

Level 3 (Secret)

Level 3 security clearances are given to senior security and research personnel who require in-depth data on the source, recovery circumstances, and long-term planning for anomalous objects and entities in containment. Most senior research team members, project managers, security officers, response team members, and Mobile Task Force operatives hold a Level 3 security clearance.

scp FOUNDATION LEVELS

Level 4 (Top Secret)

Level 4 security clearances are given to senior administrators who require access to area-wide and/or regional information, as well as long-term strategic data involving Foundation operations and research projects. Level 4 security clearances are typically only held by Site/Area Directors, Security Directors or Mobile Task Force Commanders.

Level 5 (Thaumiel)

Level 5 security clearances are given to the highest-ranking administrative staff at the Foundation, and effectively guarantee unlimited data for all strategic or otherwise sensitive data. Level 5 security clearances are typically given only to O5 Council members and selected employees.

Mobile Task Force Operatives

Mobile Task Forces are specialized units comprised of veteran field personnel selected from across the Foundation. These action groups are mobilized to deal with threats of a specific nature and can include everything from field researchers specializing in a particular type of anomaly to highly armed units tasked with securing certain types of hostile anomalous entities. See the Task Forces documentation for more detailed information.

Field EmployeesField Agent

Field agents are the eyes and ears of the Foundation, employees trained to look for and investigate signs of anomalous activity, often disguised as local or regional law enforcement or involved in local services such as emergency medical services and regulatory organizations. As undercover units, field agents are typically not able to deal with confirmed cases of anomalous activity; Once such an incident is confirmed and isolated, field agents will typically call for assistance from the nearest field containment team with the means to secure and contain such anomalies.

Tactical Response Officer

Response teams – or tactical teams – are highly trained and heavily armed combat teams tasked with escorting containment teams when anomalous entities or hostile Interest Groups are involved and defending Foundation facilities against hostile actions. Response teams are military units effectively placed at key Foundation installations that are ready to be released at any time.

Security Officers

Area security officers—often referred to simply as "guards"—at Foundation facilities are charged with protecting the physical security and information of Foundation projects, operations, and employees. Primarily selected and recruited from the military, law enforcement officers and institutional employees

Researchers

Researchers are the scientific branch of the Foundation, selected from the ranks of the smartest and best-trained research scientists in the world. With experts in every field imaginable, from chemistry and botany to more esoteric or specialized fields such as theoretical physics and xenobiology, the goal of the Foundation's research projects is to gain a greater understanding of unexplained anomalies and how they operate.

Area EmployeesContainment Specialists

Containment specialists have two main roles at Foundation facilities. First, containment teams are called to respond to confirmed cases of anomalous activity to secure and establish initial containment under anomalous objects, entities, or phenomena, and transport them to the nearest Foundation containment site.

In addition, Foundation containment engineers and technicians are called upon to design, refine, and maintain containment units and schemes for objects, entities, and phenomena on Foundation facilities.

Employee Titles

These are the standard occupational titles, which are typically used in the Foundation.

O5 Council Members

The O5 Council refers to the committee consisting of the Foundation's highest-ranking directors. With complete access to all information involving anomalies in containment, the O5 Council oversees all Foundation operations around the world and directs its long-term strategic plans. Due to the sensitivity of their positions members of the O5 Council cannot come into direct contact with any anomalous object, entity or phenomenon. Additionally, the identities of all O5 Council members are classified; all board members are referred to only by their numerical designations (O5-1 through O5-13).
