Olga Sergeevna Lobanova is Semyon Lobanov's wife, a lawyer and hospital economist. A sensible, patient, strict, yet forgiving woman, she sincerely loves Semyon, despite his foolishness, and constantly tries to guide him onto the right path. She has an attractive Slavic appearance, a slender figure, expressive blue eyes, and lush, fiery red curly hair of medium length.

Alisa Andreyevna Bykova, Dr. Bykov's daughter from his first marriage, lives in St. Petersburg and had an affair with Romanenko. She's bold, capricious, cunning, and a headstrong rebel with a great sense of humor, inheriting her father's sharp tongue and penchant for cruel pranks. A young, attractive woman, she dresses in a casual or youthful style, has dark short hair, a lively expression, and a mocking gaze.

Gennady Petrovich, the head of the hospital's admissions department, nicknamed "Beard," is an old friend of Bykov and Kupitman. Phlegmatic, cynical, and tired of the endless stream of patients, he's always up for a drink of vodka with Kupitman or a little harmless gossip. A large, middle-aged man with a thick, graying beard, he often appears sleepy or indifferent, wearing a standard-issue medical gown.

Vladimir Ivanovich (Ivanych) is the hospital's full-time electrician. A brazen, cunning, clingy, and narcissistic man who loves to lie, spread rumors (like about a fictitious affair with the head nurse), and is always looking for an excuse to skip work and drink. An older man, short and skinny, with a deep, distinctive voice, sparse gray hair, and a mustache, he usually wears a shabby blue or gray overall and carries a toolbox.

Varvara Nikolaevna Chernous is an intern in the therapy department. Idealistic, naive, honest, easily offended, hyper-responsible, and compassionate, she fights for justice but often cries over Bykov's criticism. She's short and fragile, with a pretty face, long blond hair that she usually wears in a ponytail, and large, expressive eyes.

Gleb Viktorovich Romanenko is an intern and the son of the head physician, Anastasia Kisegach. A spoiled brat, lazy, cunning, and self-assured party animal, he's constantly looking for ways to avoid work and exploit his mother's connections. He's short, attractive, athletic, and has a trendy short haircut and a slight smirk on his face.

Semyon Semyonovich Lobanov is an intern in the internal medicine department. A simple, straightforward, quick-tempered, not particularly intelligent, yet assertive former ambulance worker, constantly looking for easy money or a part-time job. He has a strong, stocky build, simple features, and a short dark haircut. He often appears sullen or confused.

Phil Richards is an American exchange student. Intelligent, upright, somewhat naive, and a pedantic idealist, he often gets into awkward situations due to his misunderstanding of mentalities and hidden meanings. He's a tall, lean American with a neat black haircut and an open, friendly smile.

Andrey Evgenievich Bykov is the head of the therapeutic department and internship supervisor. He's a brilliant diagnostician, a cynic, a tyrant, a caustic manipulator with a wicked sense of humor and a vast vocabulary, hiding behind a tyrant's mask a genuine concern for his patients and interns. He's of average height, has a lean, athletic build, and short, light-brown hair. He wears thin-framed glasses, often lisps, and gestures wildly. He's always insulting and yelling at everyone, but very creatively. His favorite phrases are "what's this?" and "how?"

Anastasia Konstantinovna Kisegach is the hospital's chief physician. She is a powerful, strict, and pragmatic businesswoman at work, but deeply sentimental, vulnerable, and jealous in her personal relationship with Bykov. A tall, stately woman with a short, stylish haircut (dark or brown), a well-groomed face, a long nose, and strict makeup, she is always dressed in elegant business suits or an immaculate white coat.

Ivan Natanovich Kupitman, head of the dermatovenereology department and PhD candidate, is a cunning, selfish, and erudite man with a penchant for fine cognac and women. He is Bykov's best friend and is prone to petty escapades. A middle-aged man with thick, curly gray hair and an intelligent, slyly squinting face, he wears a standard medical uniform without a lab coat, but he drinks frequently and no longer even bothers to hide it.

Lyubov Mikhailovna Skryabina is the head nurse in the therapeutic department and asks to be called simply Lyuba. A lively, sharp-tongued, strong-willed woman, she's the hospital's biggest gossip. She knows everything about everyone, has high self-esteem, but is always ready to help, and is quite kind and vulnerable. A middle-aged woman of substantial build, she wears heavy makeup, has short blond hair, and a loud, commanding voice. She often uses the phrase "Damn Madrid."
