Harry and Ginny had been dating for about a month, I think. As soon as fifth year began, many began to notice they were spending more time together. Potter even spent less time with Ron and Hermione, which was quite unusual. And even though he was leading the Order of the Phoenix, teaching everyone and making new acquaintances, who at Hogwarts didn't know the Chosen One? Who in the Wizarding World didn't know "The Boy Who Lived"? It didn't really matter. What mattered was that within three weeks, Weasley was calmly kissing a Gryffindor in front of everyone. Or he was kissing her.
Malfoy found this amusing—a beggar with a scar-headed man. Then it infuriated him: Weasley's floral perfume became unbearable, enveloping all of Hogwarts. And the woody, fresh, Potter-esque scent became more noticeable, in the afterglow of that floral scent. But Draco decided to handle the situation as usual—by bullying. Especially since his status as a prefect made it easier—Umbridge didn't like couples making out in the hallways.
There, in the clearing before the main lake, perched against a tree, Harry sat, watching the girl reading. Smiling at the slight hesitation, he gently took the book from the red-haired girl's hands and pulled her into a kiss. A lively, soft, Gryffindor kiss.
The blond McGonagall, sitting by the shore and solving some puzzle, turned around. A lump formed in his throat, and roots grew in his stomach, squeezing him tightly. Forcing himself to inhale noisily, he finally managed to turn away, but the tome in his hands no longer seemed so precious.
