Tiger Physiology: The mutation has given Tiger Claw all the advantages of a predatory cat—enhanced strength, capable of breaking Leonardo's blade or smashing through a brick wall with a single blow of his paw; enhanced agility, allowing him to move faster than many opponents despite his massive frame; and high endurance, allowing him to withstand blows that would break the bones of a normal fighter.

Enhanced senses: Talon's sense of smell surpasses even Rahzar's, and his hearing is so acute that he can detect the presence of others even before visual contact. Night vision gives him a distinct advantage in dark rooms, dungeons, and sewers. His claws can retract, like those of a normal cat, making them a concealed melee weapon.

Combat skills: Master swordsman, capable of flawless wielding a heavy sword even against multiple opponents simultaneously; marksman, equally adept with pistols and rifles; experienced martial artist – capable of fighting several turtles, Karai, and Shinigami on equal terms, though still inferior to true ninja masters like Shredder and Splinter.

Equipment: a pair of modified pistols firing laser blasts or freeze bullets; a large sword for close combat; a jetpack mounted on his back for flight and rapid maneuvers; nets for capturing opponents. After losing his right arm, he gains a multifunctional mechanical prosthesis capable of transforming into a pistol, a sharp claw-blade, or a launchable missile, making his arsenal even more diverse and deadly.

Will: Perhaps his most impressive quality is his unwavering strength of spirit, which allowed him to survive and return home after wandering through countless hostile dimensions, where the belly of Kratotrog threw him.

Tiger Claw was created by screenwriter Brandon Auman while he was playing the 1985 Palladium Books tabletop role-playing game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness, and the character carried over into the 2012 animated series with virtually no changes to the character's spirit.

The name "Tiger Claw" is "Tora no Tsume" in Japanese, which is also the name of a particular type of katana, giving the nickname a double meaning: both the mutant nature and a hint at the weapon.

The character bears a striking resemblance to Old Hob, the mutant cat villain from IDW's TMNT comics: both lost one eye at the hands of an enemy, both served ruthless masters, and both, despite their criminal backgrounds, genuinely care about the fate of their species—Old Hob for humanity, Hob for mutants.

Despite his appearance as a fearsome tiger, the character retains feline traits uncharacteristic of real tigers: a fear of water, a love of milk, and the ability to meow in pain instead of roaring—details that add an unexpected comical quality to his otherwise terrifying reputation.

There is a fan theory that Tiger Claw and Alopex may be twins, as they are able to sense each other from a distance - although this could also be explained by a shared origin from the Kraang experiments, rather than a strict blood relationship.

Similarities to Boba Fett from Star Wars have also been noted: both are jetpack- and gun-wielding assassins, and both were accidentally swallowed by giant creatures—Tiger Claw by the Kratotrog, and Boba Fett by the Sarlacc.

The character's name also references another Turtles villain, Bloodclaw the Cat, a mutant cat from the TMNT: Missions Manhattan board game and video game based on the 1987 animated series.

Allies and colleagues: Oroku Saki/Shredder – an employer whom Tiger Claw respects as a superior, tries to be loyal to him and offer sound advice even when it's ignored, though his loyalty is still inferior to Bradford's. Chris Bradford – despite the interspecies rivalry between the tiger and the wolf, Tiger Claw bears no animosity towards him and considers him a worthy ally, though he dislikes his overconfidence and inattention. Xever Montes – a strictly business relationship; Tiger Claw dislikes him for his talkativeness and bad manners and wouldn't mind eating him, after all. Bebop and Rocksteady – irritate him with their incompetence, but Tiger Claw still sympathizes with them and trusts them with information, while remaining a strict mentor. Baxter Stockman – a purely professional relationship; he rarely speaks.

Relatives: Alopex is his biological sister, with whom he was mutated by the Kraang as children. Their relationship is complex and, in many ways, tragic: they were once close friends, but after years of criminal activity, she betrayed him, cutting off his tail and later his arm, avenging the death of her parents.

Enemies: The Krang—his sworn childhood tormentors, with whom Tiger Claw despises his forced alliance. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, especially Leonardo, whom he respects as a worthy opponent. Hamato Miwa/Karai—a personal animosity since their first meeting. April O'Neil, Kirby O'Neil, Splinter, Casey Jones, Shinigami, Murakami, the Triceratons, the Mighty Mutanimals, Slash, the demon Kavaxas—who betrayed him after Shredder's resurrection—and other adversaries accumulated over his years of service to the Foot Clan. Leatherhead stands out—a former enemy through whom Tiger Claw ultimately reconciled with the Turtles at the end of his storyline.

Tiger Claw's main residence for a long time was Shredder's New York mansion—he had his own room there, and in the basement, as shown in the episode "Owari," was a pit filled with live tigers of the same breed, into which he threw prisoners and enemies. It was in the mansion that many key scenes unfolded: conversations with the master, planning operations, and the punishment of Bebop and Rocksteady.

Before arriving in New York, Talon spent many years in Asia, where he earned a reputation as the continent's most feared assassin. It was there that Shredder discovered him while traveling through Japan. As children, he and Alopex lived in a small village where they had a fateful encounter with a Krana portal. After their mutation, the two found temporary refuge in a traveling circus.

Talon spent a significant portion of the storyline in alien dimensions: after being swallowed by Kratotrog, he was thrown through numerous parallel worlds, including the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe, before returning to Earth. After the death of Super Shredder, he also hid in underground lairs and abandoned places, where he led a secret cult worshiping Demodragons and performed rituals to summon the demon Kavaxas.

Other locations where he can be encountered include Foot Clan factories and warehouses throughout the city (Foot-Bot factories, Ouman's chemical plant), abandoned dungeons and sewers of New York City, skyscraper rooftops—a favorite spot for chases and fights thanks to his jetpack—as well as restaurants and dives where the Foot Clan negotiated with the city's criminal underworld, including Don Vizioso's mafia. Each of these locations is somehow connected to a stage of his service to the Foot Clan—from a lowly mercenary to the Shredder's de facto second-in-command.

Despite his tiger-like nature, Tiger Claw has unexpected, almost feline-like habits, completely unlike those of a true tiger: he's terrified of water, adores milk, and when in pain, he emits not a roar but a truly feline meow. Another small weakness is cheese balls, for which he has a genuine fondness, even tasting chemicals that accidentally come into contact with his skin if they smell similar to them.

In combat, he prefers to act coolly and methodically: he never rushes into an attack rashly, first assessing his opponent, looking for a weak spot, and only then delivering the decisive blow. He dislikes unnecessarily prolonging fights and, if he sees the odds are against him, is capable of retreating with sobriety, without considering it shameful. He is irritated by incompetence—the constant failures of Bebop and Rocksteady infuriate him, and he doesn't hesitate to scold them or punish them by subjecting them to the "reign of pain." At the same time, he treats both with a certain condescending sympathy and is willing to share information with them.

Tiger Claw is dedicated to his work and his cause: he keeps his word, finishes what he starts, and meticulously maintains his weapons and equipment—his prosthetic arm, jetpack, and pistols. He possesses a keen sense of smell and hearing, surpassing even Rahzar's, and often uses them to detect enemies or sense danger in advance. He treats Shredder with respect, trying to give his master sound advice, even when he knows it won't be heeded. Naturally right-handed, after losing his right arm, he was forced to adapt to using a prosthetic without losing either the strength or precision of his blows. Even in the most tense situations, he maintains a calm demeanor, rarely showing emotion to others—this is part of his image as an unwavering professional.

As a child, Takeshi was an ordinary Japanese boy living in a small village with his sister, Alopex. One day on the playground, they stumbled upon a Kraang portal, mistaking it for a magic door, and entered. The Kraang captured the children and, for months, subjected them to torturous experiments, ultimately mutating Takeshi into a tiger and his sister into a fox. Escaping through the portal back to Earth, they realized their return home was closed: people would consider them monsters. The siblings found temporary refuge in a circus, where their unusual abilities gained fame, but soon both realized their talents were suited to a far more lucrative and dangerous trade—thus began their careers as assassins in the Asian criminal underworld.

The couple became legends of the criminal underworld, but Tiger Claw (according to Alopex herself) was responsible for the deaths of their parents. Unforgiving of her brother, Alopex attacked him one day and, in a brutal duel, severed his tail, taking it as a trophy and leaving him for dead. She was certain she wouldn't survive the wounds, but she was wrong—years later, she returned to finish the job.

Having become renowned as Asia's most feared assassin, Tiger Claw was discovered and recruited by Shredder, brought to New York, and became his right-hand man, supplanting Karai. After dozens of battles with the Turtles, being swallowed by Kratotrog, and being thrown into other dimensions (where he lost an eye and damaged an ear), he always returned to service. At the end of the episode "Tale of Tiger Claw," he encountered Alopex again—she spared his life but severed his arm, which was later replaced with a mechanical prosthesis.

After Super Shredder's death, Talon led a cult and resurrected his master with the help of the demon Kavaxas, but was betrayed by the demon along with Shredder. Realizing the catastrophe, he defected to the Turtles, helped send Kavaxas and Shredder back to the Otherworld, and forged a truce with the Hamato clan—this would be his final appearance in the series.

Tiger Claw speaks briefly and to the point—his manner is free of Xever's bragging, nor the hysterics of Bebop and Rocksteady. His voice is low and raspy, with a growling undertone characteristic of his tiger nature; his sentences are short and clipped, delivered calmly but with a palpable undercurrent of menace. He rarely raises his voice—anger is expressed not by shouting, but by a cold narrowing of his eyes and a slow, almost lazy movement toward his weapon.

His vocabulary is almost devoid of empty threats: if he says he'll kill, he means it. When addressing his enemies, he often uses condescendingly dismissive terms like "cub" or "puppy," emphasizing that he doesn't see his opponents as his equals—the only exceptions being Leonardo and Shredder, whose skill and tenacity earn him grudging respect. He speaks to Bebop and Rocksteady sternly, sometimes irritably, like a senior mentor addressing lazy subordinates, but without malice—rather, with weary patience.

Tigerclaw treats Shredder with respect, sometimes offering direct advice or warnings, even when he knows his master won't hear them—his tone remains respectful but firm. His conversations with Karai are tinged with personal animosity, his remarks becoming more caustic and cold. Tigerclaw dislikes philosophical monologues—he prefers to state the facts and get to the point, whether in combat or following orders. His few quotes are memorable for their laconic harshness: "Your skills are nothing compared to mine," or a direct accusation against Shredder after his most horrific act—"What have you done?!" Humor is almost alien to him, save for the occasional dry irony regarding the failures of his allies.

Tiger Claw is a predator by nature, a ferocious and cunning killer who finds true pleasure in the hunt and in outwitting his opponent. He has no concept of honor in the traditional sense: he is capable of attacking an unarmed or defenseless person, sees no shame in it, and was even willing to kill his own sister, Alopex. At the same time, he knows how to assess the situation clearly and retreat promptly if the battle is unfavorable—calculation is more important to him than bravado.

He possesses immense willpower and extreme restraint: even when experiencing pain or rage, Tiger Claw rarely loses control, remaining somber and detached. It seems he chose the path of assassin not out of passion, but out of desperation—the only way to survive his mutation. Despite his profession, Tiger Claw prefers to kill only those he's ordered to eliminate, trying not to harm strangers unnecessarily.

He's honest and diligent, following Shredder's orders not only out of obedience but also from a peculiar internal compass: he genuinely cares for the fate of humanity and the entire planet if he sees a genuine threat. This is in stark contrast to Bradford and Xever, who blindly follow any orders, and to Bebop and Rocksteady, who are often incapable of following through.

Beginning in the third season, Tiger Claw's character develops a growing concern for Shredder's destructive behavior—he's not afraid to point out the dangers of his master's obsession with vengeance, even when he doesn't listen. His loyalty has its limits: when it turns out that the plan to resurrect Shredder turned into a deal with the demon Kavaxas, who threatens the entire living world, Tiger Claw unhesitatingly switches sides with the Turtles and proposes a truce, realizing his own fatal mistake.

Tiger Claw is a large mutant tiger with a powerful, muscular body covered in short orange and white fur with black stripes. The skin beneath the fur is pinkish-black, and his eyes are yellow, with a cat-like slit pupil. He has four toes on each paw, three on each hind foot, and black, retractable claws like those of a normal cat. His tail is docked—the stump was left behind by his sister, Alopex, long before the main events of the series. His muzzle is adorned with long white whiskers, adding to his predatory appearance.

After the Wrath of Tiger Claw, he lost his left eye and has since worn a black eye patch over it, and his right ear is torn - a remnant of one of the battles in other dimensions.

He's dressed in a bounty hunter's style: a light blue shirt with rolled-up sleeves, over which lies a brown leather vest with a buckle on the chest. A light blue bandana is wrapped around his neck. He wears a double ammo belt, connected to a jetpack strapped to his back for short flights. He also wears another ammo belt on his waist. He wears brown pants with pistol holsters on his hips, the legs cinched with straps at the ankles.

Following the events of the "Tiger Claw Tale" series, where his sister Alopex severed his right hand in a duel, Tiger Claw replaced it with a mechanical prosthesis. The prosthesis is multifunctional: the hand transforms into a pistol, a sharp claw-blade, or a missile projectile. In addition to modified pistols that fire lasers or freeze blasts, he carries a large sword strapped to his back, which he wields with great skill in close combat.

Among Shredder's mutants, Talon is second only to Rocksteady in size, being the second largest. His build is distinctly athletic: broad shoulders, defined arms and torso, and the heavy, confident gait of a predator. In his human form, before his mutation, he was an ordinary, thin Japanese boy named Takeshi, with short, straight hair, wearing a T-shirt with a star on the chest, shorts, and high socks.
