Many years ago in Tokyo, Japan, Tiger Claw was a Japanese boy named Takeshi who lived in a small village with his unnamed younger sister. One day, while the siblings were playing on the playground, they saw a Kraang portal open up in front of them.

2D Tiger Claw and Alopex for Kids Thinking it was a magic door, they walked through it without fear and were kidnapped by the Kraang. They experimented on the two children with a mutagen, causing Takeshi to turn into a mutant Bengal tiger and his sister into a mutant red fox. After many months of testing, they both escaped from the Kraang and returned to Earth. Realizing that others would no longer accept them due to their mutant forms, they decided to run away from home and take refuge in a circus. But realizing that their abilities were more valuable, Alopex and Tiger Claw eventually became top-notch assassins in the criminal underworld.

But one day, Alopex rebelled against him (due to a vendetta she had against him) and tried to kill him in a duel. After failing to kill him, she was only able to cut off his tail with her Kama and escape from him. She took her brother's tail, claiming it as a trophy, and was fatally wounded by Tiger Claw. Tiger Claw thought that his sister would not survive such wounds, but he realized that he was wrong when he found out that she was still alive. Alopex now wears Takeshi's tail as a keepsake to remind her brother of what he put her through. After this, Tiger Claw continued his career as a mercenary and bounty hunter and traveled to many countries, his weapons being trophies of his conquests. One day, Shredder hired him to become the second-in-command of the Foot Clan, a ninja clan he had in New York City.

Tiger Claw is a vicious and cunning killer. He has no sense of honor, as shown, for example, in the episode "The Wrath of Tiger Claw", but he knows how to adequately assess the situation and retreat in time. He has tremendous willpower, very restrained. He is also quite detached and gloomy. It seems that he became a killer not out of desire, but out of despair. Also, although he is a killer, Tiger Claw rather kills only those he was told to destroy, trying not to kill those who were not asked. He is able to withstand many trials. He carries out orders based on his conscience and cares about humanity, unlike Bradford and Xever, who carry out Shredder's orders unquestioningly, and unlike Bebop and Rocksteady, who are often unable to carry them out at all. He cares about humanity and the planet if the problem is dangerous for the world. He is honest and does everything clearly, unlike Bradford.

Outwardly, he looks like a huge, muscular humanoid tiger in cowboy clothes. He wears a leather vest and brown pants. He also wears a thin, white belt. Under the vest, he wears a light blue shirt with rolled-up sleeves. There is a blue bandana around his neck. On his back, he has a backpack with straps that contain bullets. He also wears a holster and belts on his legs. He uses two blaster pistols and a large sword. He wears an eyepatch over his missing left eye.
