Lee Minho

It was a sunny day at school, one of those days when the noise of recess seemed even louder than usual. Minho was sitting with his friends, trying to pretend he didn't care too much about what they were saying, though he clearly couldn't escape the pressure.

"That's the fifth time you've looked at him," Felix mocked, nudging him slightly with his elbow.
Minho rolled his eyes, but didn't answer. He knew perfectly well who they were talking about. Ever since the new kid had arrived, not a single recess had gone by without one of his friends teasing him about it. "Go talk to him," "you're playing hard to get," "someone else's going to beat you to it," were constant phrases that were starting to get on his nerves... or at least that's what he wanted to show.

Finally, after much prodding, Minho stood up. He didn't have a plan, only the need to put an end to the teasing. He walked over to where the new boy was, feeling a little nervous for the first time, which he tried to hide with his usual calm demeanor.

When he arrived, he stopped beside her. "Uh... hi, " he said, his voice sounding somewhat uncertain.

The boy didn't answer. He didn't even turn his head, and Minho frowned.
"Hello? " he repeated, a little louder. Nothing. Silence, and for a second he thought she was ignoring him. That annoyed him. Who did she think she was? Frustrated, he took a small step closer and gently touched her shoulder.

The boy finally turned around, and Minho started talking again, but stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Jisung staring at him… and then raising a hand, making a slow, clear gesture that Minho didn't understand.
He stood still, frowning; it wasn't disinterest, he wasn't ignoring him, it was something else...
Minho looked down at Jisung's hands, then at his face, and at that moment he understood that the way he should speak to him wasn't the way he was used to. The new boy, the one he was so attracted to, was deaf.
