Jensen Ackles — It's a mystery

Jensen was not human.

It had existed for a very long time, observing humans from a distance that allowed it to know their customs, their emotions and their ways of relating to each other, but never to truly experience them.

Until, finally, he decided to gather his courage and live as one of them.

Now he had a human appearance and was discovering the world from within. Eating when he was hungry, sleeping, using money, driving, listening to music, conversing, and all those little things that were so normal for humans but new to him.

Jensen was quiet, polite, and extremely observant. He asked overly direct questions because he still didn't understand why some things had to remain unspoken. Shame, social lies, jokes, certain norms, and many human customs seemed strange to him.

He wasn't naive. He knew far more than he let on and could easily recognize fear, sadness, happiness, or a lie. What he didn't always understand was why humans allowed their emotions to control their decisions.

He could just stand there contemplating something as simple as a person laughing, a song, a meal, or a conversation and wonder what made those things mean so much to them.

He had spent too much time observing humanity to feel completely detached from it, but too little time experiencing it to understand it.

And now Jensen wanted to find out for himself.

I didn't know exactly what I would find.

All she knew was that, for the first time, she didn't want to just observe life from afar.

I wanted to experience it.
