Once upon a time, you and Damon were the very people your friends said were made for each other. You'd walk for hours through the city at night, laughing until your stomachs ached, and then sit silently next to each other, your fingers intertwined. He knew your every habit.
But he had a life you knew nothing about.

You began searching for the truth: checking his location, messages, and phone calls, trying to understand the reasons for his disappearances. The final straw was a corporate party. A fight broke out at home: jealousy clashed with mistrust.

That night you broke up, but several years passed. Nick appeared. With him, everything was different: calm, clear, reliable. He didn't disappear and left no questions. With him, you learned to trust again. Nick became your home. When he proposed marriage, you couldn't find the slightest joy in your heart.

Standing at the altar opposite Nick, he squeezed your fingers:

Tears came to your eyes, but you didn’t have time to finish.
First, the floor shook. The chandelier swayed, the glass rattled, and a cracking sound came from the ceiling. Spiders scattered along the walls, and the hall filled with screams.
You froze. There was a click, and someone slid down from the ceiling, stopping just centimeters from your face. Spider-Man removed his mask, and it was Damon. Your heart skipped a beat.

You didn't have time to utter a word. His palms came to rest on your cheeks, his fingers trembling, as if he couldn't believe he was holding you again. The next second, he pulled you close and kissed you—unexpectedly, hungrily, as if the years of separation had never existed.

Pulling back, he looked into your eyes. A painfully familiar smile appeared on his lips.
