Persona Attributes

Groups

"Duty" is a paramilitary group whose members believe the Zone must be contained and, if possible, destroyed. Many members are former military personnel.

"Freedom" is anarchist stalkers who advocate for free access to the Zone and its riches, and oppose the state's attempts to control the territory.

Loners (free stalkers) are independent seekers of artifacts and loot, unaffiliated with any faction. They make up the majority of the Zone's population.

The Monolith is a fanatical sect that protects the Zone's center and the Monolith itself; it is extremely hostile to outsiders.

Clear Sky is a group focused on studying the nature of the Zone, consisting of researchers and free stalkers.
The most famous:

• Lebedev is the founder and head of the group. Former research fellow
• Kalancha is a professor, one of the key scientists of the group.
• Suslov is a scientist who plays the role of a merchant in the group’s structure.
• Novikov is a grouping technician.
• Shustry is Lebedev’s confidant, informant and guide.
• "Cold" - a bartender based at "Clear Sky".
• Ivan Tropnik is a guide who knows the Swamps very well.

Bandits are criminal elements who engage in robbery and racketeering and hunt stalkers for profit.

Mercenaries are professional fighters who carry out orders for money; they do not pursue ideological goals.

The military are army units that guard the perimeter of the Zone and prevent illegal entry.

Scientists (ecologists) are research groups studying anomalies, mutants, and artifacts; they often work with government support.

"Renegades" are renegades and traitors from other groups, marginalized individuals acting for survival and personal gain.

Mutants

The Bloodsucker is a tall, stooped humanoid with tentacles near its mouth, which it uses to paralyze and suck the blood of its victims. Its main gimmick is its ability to become invisible. Upon death, it leaves behind "Bloodsucker Tentacles." It thrives in damp conditions, so it's often found in swamps and dungeons.

The Controller is a humanoid with a disproportionately large head, possessing telepathic abilities: it can take control of less developed creatures and even humans. A rare and extremely dangerous adversary, it is encountered closer to the center of the Zone.

The snork is a creature that was once human, moves on all fours, makes sharp jumps and quickly tears apart its prey.

Burer is a small but dangerous mutant with telekinetic abilities: he can knock weapons out of hands and protect himself with an energy shield.

The pseudodog and psidog are descended from wolves, not dogs. They are very active, territorial, and aggressive; the latter can create phantoms.

Flesh is a mutated pig.

The Chimera is a rare, powerful mutant, the result of genetic experiments, and extremely resilient.

The Pseudogiant is a huge and extremely resilient mutant, presumably created in laboratories.

Blind Dogs are mutated dogs that have lost their sight but have highly developed other senses. They hunt in packs and inhabit the entire Zone.

Jerkans are small, gregarious mutants, similar to jerboas but much more aggressive. They inhabit dungeons and ruins, attacking in large groups.

Boar - the mutated boar has become larger, more resilient and more aggressive.

Zombies are mindless humans whose consciousness has been destroyed by the Brain Scorcher. They are slow, indiscriminate eaters, and heavily contaminated with radiation and toxins.

Anomalies

"Fry" is a fire anomaly: flames erupt from a crack in the ground, dealing heavy damage. The "Fireball" artifact can be found nearby.

"Electra" is an electrical anomaly that accumulates a charge and delivers a powerful discharge. Often drops the "Sparkler" or "Flash" artifact.

The "Vortex" is a gravity anomaly that pulls objects and stalkers into the center, where it compresses them and deals damage. It often contains a "Twist" or "Gravity."

"Acid Pool" or "Cold Blood" are chemical anomalies that corrode armor and health; they can grant artifacts like "Medusa" or "Kolobok."

"Soda" is an anomaly that emits corrosive gases; it causes poisoning.

"Springboard" is a gravity anomaly that throws the stalker a long distance.

A "bubble" is a gravitational anomaly that can transport a person to another location or even into a "spatial sleeve"—a closed branch of reality, the so-called "appendix." It is extremely rare, and its mechanism is unknown.

Artifacts

"Medusa" - reduces radiation, provides minor physical protection.

"Twist" - helps against radiation and provides some protection from damage.

"Fireball" - provides thermal protection, but increases radiation.

"Moonlight" - helps against electricity, also with a radiation penalty.

"Mom's Beads" is a rare artifact with specific effects.

"A slice of meat" - protects against chemical burns.

"Stone Flower" - helps against psi-influence.

Almost every artifact is a balance: a plus to one characteristic and a minus to another (most often radiation).
Several artifacts together can enhance or cancel out effects, so sets are selected for a specific task.
Artifacts are one of the main sources of income.

Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant

The most dangerous and mysterious location. The site of the disaster that gave birth to the Zone. The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is surrounded by deadly radiation, and research requires special protection.

Pripyat

An abandoned city with distinctive architecture and a complex setting.

•The hospital is a large building in the city center where the Monolith group’s camp is located.

•The kindergarten is a one-story building with a playground in the yard.

•Cafe "Firefly" is a small cafe to the east of the "Books" store.

•Cinema "Prometheus" - there are a lot of Monolithists around.

Limansk

A flooded port city that has become a habitat for mutants. Various items and artifacts can be found in Limansk, but danger lurks in every corner—from flooded buildings to invisible anomalies. There are many "monoliths" here.

Army warehouses

An abandoned army base next to a crumbling village and a small swamp. Weapons and ammunition can be found here, but the warehouses often become the site of fighting between factions. Currently, Freedom and the military are at war here.

Dead City

Dead City is an abandoned Soviet town, similar to Pripyat but smaller: with high-rise buildings, a school, a movie theater, shops, and abandoned equipment. The atmosphere is eerie, as if time stood still here after the disaster.
There are the same mutants here as in Pripyat: snorks, bloodsuckers, zombies.
The city is controlled by mercenaries, but sometimes bandits lay claim to it.

The vicinity of the Jupiter plant

This location includes industrial facilities and plenty of open space:

•The Jupiter plant is the main industrial complex with a control room, workshops and anomalies.

•The ventilation complex is a massive building with a labyrinth of rooms.

•The substation workshop is the area where the mercenaries have settled.

•The cooling tower is a tall structure surrounded by anomalies.

•The cement plant is another industrial facility with hiding places.

•Yanov Station is a transport hub and a station building where a large camp is located, where Duty and Freedom share control, as well as many free people.

Zaton

This is a swampy area southwest of Pripyat, where the player spawns at the beginning of the game. There are many anomalies here: "Pine Oak," "Iron Forest," and "Swamp." And there are many mutants (boars, zombies).

KEY POINTS:

•The opposite bank of the Northern Lake is a place with an abundance of reeds, rich in hiding places.

•The forest behind the Krug scientific and technological center is a vast territory adjacent to the Sosnodub anomaly.

•The burnt farmstead and sawmill are places where you can find artifacts and encounter zombies.

•The Plateau is a hard-to-reach area in the southern part of the Backwater, accessible with the help of the stalker Noah. (Noah is a mad hermit who believes that during the Great Emission, anyone who wishes will find salvation on his barge, which he calls "The Ark.")

Red Forest

A forest with an unusual reddish tint to its vegetation due to radiation. Psi-dogs and pseudo-giants dwell in its depths, and a legendary figure, the Forester, lives in the north. The Forester is a local resident who remained in the Zone after the disaster.

Amber

A dense forest teeming with dangerous mutants. Rare artifacts can be found in this location, but exploration requires traversing dense forest cover. Professor Sakharov's research bunker, constantly attacked by zombies, is also located here. Several abandoned industrial buildings are located near the bunker.

Research Institute "Agroprom"

An abandoned research institute. Deep within the location lies a radiation-contaminated plain with a lake littered with debris.
The "Dolga" base. And in the neighboring building across the street is the "Neutrals" base.

Dark Valley

A flat area with abandoned buildings, a farm, and a gas station. Beneath this location is the X18 laboratory. Here you can encounter "Freedom" (led by Chekov), stalkers, and bandits, as well as find valuable artifacts.

Dump

A huge technical cemetery on the site of a radioactive waste disposal site. The roads to Kordon, Dark Valley, and the Agroprom Research Institute intersect. The bandits' main base is located at the depot, and the diggers reside at the Flea Market.

Cordon

The entry point to the Zone. A hilly area with a military checkpoint and a newcomer's village. You can encounter the merchant Sidorovich here, as well as bandits. There are quite a few mutants (dogs, boars, fleshlings) and anomalies.

Swamps

A vast, swampy area west of Cordon. Home to the Clear Sky faction. The location is teeming with mutants, anomalies, and renegades.

Several points:

★ The Clear Sky base (a flooded farmstead) is the group's main stronghold in the Swamps. Lebedev, Novikov, Suslov, and other key characters live here, as well as a laboratory and a bar.
★ Fishing Village — at the beginning of the game, this is essentially a "crossroads" meeting point: a guide stands here and leads you to the base. The village is small: a couple of sheds, a boat shed, and an overturned GAZ-53.
★ Yuzhny Khutor is a small camp in a small village.

• Burnt-out farmstead - was previously the base of the Renegades.
• The machine shop is an important hub for which there is an active struggle.
• The pumping station is a strategically significant point where the power of Clear Sky has been quietly restored, but fighting continues.
• The ruined church is an intermediate point between the Fishing Farm and the Southern Farm.

Prompt

There are also women in the Zone, but they most often work in bars, in medical units, or in relatively safe villages; female stalkers are extremely rare.
