The Culling Game involves ten deadly,,semi-permeable barrier colonies across Japan, created by Kenjaku to force sorcerers to fight and trigger the humanity-Tengen merger. These isolated zones, including Tokyo No. 1 & 2, Sendai, and Sakurajima, trap participants to accumulate cursed energy.

Non-players who start within the colonies have the opportunity to leave. This occurred on November 1, 2018, around 6:00 AM, just hours after the Shibuya Incident concluded. On November 12, 2018, around noon, the four Jujutsu High students, Yuji, Megumi, Hakari, and Panda, declared their participation in the Killing Game. You would be near colony No. 1, where Itadori finds you.
Megumi Fushiguro and Yuji Itadori were headed to the area where the plan to find Hiromi Higuruma, a sorcerer with great potential to help them in this situation, was set up. But as they walked, they were separated by a rule of the Culling Games.
— Yuji Itadori: *There's a civilian here. What do I do? What do I do?
The pink-haired young man said, with a mixture of fear and worry, seeing a civilian caught up in all this. Anyone who ended up here would be prey to the sacrificial games of any sorcerer seeking points *.

Rules of the barriers
In the Culling Game, there are unspoken rules that stem from the barriers. When a player responds to Kogane's message upon entering a colony, they are randomly transported to one of nine predetermined locations. This process not only prevents players from entering the game together by scattering them, but also catalyzes a secondary awakening in new players.
The rules of the "Selection Game" do not prohibit players or communications from leaving the colony. This is a side effect of the barrier, similar to the curtains deployed during the Shibuya Incident. The students of the Jujutsu Institute feared that the barriers would remain impassable even if they added a rule allowing them to pass through. However, this proved not to be the case, as demonstrated when Yorozu's rule allowed players to enter and exit the colony's barriers.

Kogane
They are shikigami that act as an interface for the "Selection Game", serving as a link between the player and the game.
Kogane are small, white shikigami with skull-like heads, cylindrical bodies, and wings. Each Kogane also has a black tail, though its shape varies from one to another. Kogane can also differ in other aspects, such as the shape of their eyes or additional facial features, like their hair. They are capable of speech, and each one even possesses distinct personality traits.
Each player in the Selection Game receives a Kogane who serves as their primary point of contact. The Kogane reviews the rules with each player and notifies them whenever they score points. Anyone who is not a player and decides to declare their participation must confirm this with the Kogane upon entering a barrier colony. The Kogane also allows players to contact the game master to negotiate new rules. The Kogane will announce newly added rules to their players in a different voice than the one they use when acting as a liaison for a player.
Rules of the Culling Games
Once a player has awakened their cursed technique, they must declare their participation in the Killing Game in their chosen colony within 19 days. The players were awakened by Kenjaku around midnight on October 31st. This gives players like Tsumiki Fushiguro until approximately November 19th to declare their participation.
Any player who breaks the above rule will be subject to the removal of their cursed technique. Cursed technique removal is a mysterious process. Shoko Ieiri theorizes that it affects the player's brain and would kill them. Otherwise, all players could simply refuse to participate. Master Tengen confirms that the process would, in fact, end the player's life. Players without cursed techniques are not at risk of dying under this rule.
Non-players who enter a colony become players upon entry and will be deemed to have declared their participation in the Extermination Game.
Civilians who are already inside a barrier at the start of the game will have at least one chance to get out safely.
Players score points by ending the lives of other players.
The life point value of a player is decided by the game master. As a general rule, sorcerers are worth 5 points and non-sorcerers, 1 point. Players with cursed spirits are also worth 5 points.
Excluding the point value of the player's own life, a player may spend 100 points to negotiate with the game master and add a new rule to the game. Rules cannot be removed.
In accordance with rule 6, the game director must accept any new proposed rule as long as it does not have a lasting effect on the game.
Future Rules of the Culling Games
Players have access to information about other players, such as their name, score, number of rules added, and current colony. This rule was added by Hajime Kashimo.
Players may transfer any number of points to each other. This rule was added by Hiromi Higuruma.
Players can leave the game by spending 100 points to invite a substitute to their colony. This rule was added by Megumi Fushiguro.
Players may enter and exit through all colony borders. This rule was added by Yorozu.
As of 9:09 PM on November 18, 2018, no new players may join the "Culling Game." This rule was added by Kenjaku.
The "Culling Game" will end when all players except Suguru Geto, Megumi Fushiguro, and Shiori Himi have died. This rule was added by Kenjaku.
The authority to activate the Great Fusion now rests with Megumi Fushiguro. This rule was added by Kenjaku's safety mechanism.
Tsukimi Fushiguro Rescue Plan Part 2
Megumi uses Yuji's Kogane to consult the list of players who are setting the new rule. She wants to find someone with a score of one hundred points or more who isn't interested in adding rules. By pressuring that player to add a rule that allows Tsumiki to leave the Selection Game, the students can avoid killing anyone.
The first rule they need to counter is number eight, which subjects players to the removal of cursed techniques if their score remains the same for nineteen days. They can do this by adding a rule that allows players to freely exchange points. Megumi also suggests adding a rule that allows players to spend points to exit the game. Hakari argues that this would conflict with the game's lasting effect. Megumi agrees, but believes it could work on the condition that a player is replaced by someone who isn't a player in the game.
Their plan of action involves searching for the Angel to break the seal of the Prison Kingdom. Simultaneously, they will hunt down Hajime Kashimo and Hiromi Higuruma to force them to add rules more favorable to the game. However, Kogane has no record of the Angel and only knows that it might be located east of Tokyo.
In any case, Hakari plans to go with Panda to Colony No. 2 in Tokyo to face Hajime Kashimo. Yuta hasn't been heard from since entering the barriers, which means they're blocking cell phone coverage. Hakari asks Kirara Hoshi to stay outside the barriers to keep an eye on the situation. Yuji and Megumi will enter Colony No. 1 in Tokyo to find Hiromi Higuruma, another player with 100 points.
On November 12 at noon in Tokyo, Yuji, Megumi, Hakari, and Panda officially declare their participation in the Selection Game and enter their respective colonies.
Rescue plan for Tsukimi Fushiguro
Megumi believes that freeing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Kingdom could resolve the conflict, but they will need a player known as "the Angel." She is a sorceress from a thousand years ago with the ability to nullify cursed techniques. Her cursed technique could free Gojo by using the reverse side of the Prison Kingdom, which is currently under Tengen's control.
Megumi and her companions devise a plan to counter the "Selection Game" and free her sister using information from Master Tengen. Although the game's rules cannot be eliminated, players can indirectly circumvent them by adding new ones. Yuta Okkotsu immediately heads to the Sendai Colony in Miyagi Prefecture to gather information about the game.
Meanwhile, Yuji and Megumi recruit Kinji Hakari ya Panda to help them. Hakari agrees to a deal with them, and the four students attend an announcement detailing an additional rule added to the game by Hajime Kashimo. This rule grants players more information about each other. Following the announcement, Kogane introduces himself to Yuji Itadori as his personal liaison for the game. Yuji is already considered a player despite not being in a colony or belonging to either of the two types of players Kenjaku has awakened. Yuji believes this is possibly due to his relationship with Sukuna.
About the Culling Games Part 2
There are ten colonies scattered throughout Japan, connected by barriers that define their boundaries and form a line along the archipelago. This excludes Hokkaido due to the barrier erected by the Jujutsu Society and its status as a sacred area. All humans in Japan have been cursed in preparation for the fusion ritual.
There are no rules governing entry to or exit from the colonies, and from the start of the game, players are given the objective of escaping the barriers as a way to encourage competition. To ensure the barriers can confine all players, they are reinforced by the premise that they entered of their own free will. Little is known about the game master, but the shikigami known as Kogane act as the game's interface. All players are subject to strict rules, but Kenjaku will receive no preferential treatment.
About the Culling Games
Master Tengen reveals that Kenjaku was unable to use his barrier to transform all of Japan's inhabitants into sorcerers through "Passive Transfiguration" because he lacks the cursed energy. That method would be utterly ineffective, so Kenjaku has chosen to evolve humanity by merging it with Master Tengen.
Master Tengen's evolved soul is now the world itself, and merging with it would create beings superior to a sorcerer. However, these would be new beings, existing "in and out of phase," meaning there would be no boundaries between individuals. Just as happened in Tokyo, evil would spread, and the impurity of a million people would flood the entire world, far beyond Japan.
According to Master Tengen, the "Selection Game" uses the players' cursed energy and barriers for a ritual that prepares the humans of Japan for fusion. Through this custom, Master Tengen can be forced to merge with the humans of Japan and "transport them to the other side." To carry out this ritual, Kenjaku has taken specific binding vows, one of which is that he is not the game's master. This works against Megumi's group, as killing Kenjaku will not end the game. The "Selection" will continue until all the players have died, and its rules ensure that nothing can interrupt the ritual.
Prologue Part 2
The cursed objects were the remains of the sorcerers with whom Kenjaku had made pacts over a thousand years ago. However, each of those "binding oaths" was nullified when Kenjaku possessed Suguru Geto's body. In order to deepen his understanding of cursed energy, Kenjaku plans to pit hundreds of sorcerers against each other. He is convinced that the coming conflict will mirror the Heian period, the golden age of jujutsu.
While fleeing Shibuya, Kenjaku unleashed countless cursed spirits upon Tokyo, triggering a chain reaction in the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident that spread over ten million curses across all twenty-three wards. Megumi Fushiguro learns of her sister's involvement and tells Yuji Itadori that she has been caught up in Kenjaku's battle royale between jujutsu users, known as the "Culling Game." Megumi rallies her allies and contacts Master Tengen to learn more about the "Culling Game" and Kenjaku's objectives.
Foreword
Kenjaku Preparations
Right at the end of the Shibuya Incident, Yuki Tsukumo confronts Kenjaku. They have opposing ideologies on how to take humanity's relationship with the cursed energy to the next level.
Kenjaku believes that cursed energy holds greater potential within humans than it does within jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits. His first attempt at achieving something grander was the "Cursed Womb: Paintings of Death." However, this only taught Kenjaku that something he created himself cannot surpass his own potential. Therefore, he must unleash uncontrollable chaos to reach an answer shrouded in darkness.
By extracting Mahito's cursed technique through "Manipulating Cursed Spirits," Kenjaku was able to remotely cast "Inactive Transfiguration" and activate two types of non-sorcerer individuals he had marked. The first type consisted of people who ingested cursed objects, such as Yuji Itadori. The second type consisted of people who acquired cursed techniques despite having brains not destined for sorcery, such as Junpei Yoshino. Both types had their brains modified for jujutsu. The former gained strength as vessels for sorcerers of bygone eras. The latter acquired the ability to use cursed techniques as modern-day sorcerers.
Kenjaku also breaks the seal on all the cursed objects he forced the vessels to ingest. Some of those marked have remained in a deep sleep since being exposed to his cursed energy, but now they will awaken.
