Synopsis

Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori, a student with extraordinary physical abilities who enters the world of sorcery after swallowing one of the fingers of Ryomen Sukuna, the most feared sorcerer in history. Yuji becomes his vessel and is taken by Satoru Gojo to the Tokyo Technical School of Sorcery, where he trains alongside Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki to combat curses and recover Sukuna's other fingers.

While the students are on missions, a group of Curses led by Mahito, Jogo, Hanami, and Dagon conspires with a man posing as Suguru Geto. During the Shibuya Incident, the enemies manage to seal Gojo away. Sukuna temporarily takes control of Yuji and causes a massive massacre, while Nanami is killed by Mahito and Nobara is critically injured. Yuji and Todo finally defeat Mahito, but the fake Geto is revealed to be Kenjaku, an ancient sorcerer who uses other people's bodies.

Kenjaku initiates the Extinction Games, a ritual where numerous sorcerers must fight within colonies to accumulate cursed energy and prepare for the fusion of humanity with Tengen. Yuji, Megumi, Yuta, Maki, Hakari, and their allies participate to stop him and free Gojo.

Sukuna takes advantage of a moment of vulnerability to leave Yuji's body and possess Megumi. He then kills Yorozu using the body of Megumi's sister, Tsumiki, psychologically destroying his new vessel. Gojo is freed and confronts Sukuna in Shinjuku. After a monumental battle, Sukuna surpasses Infinity and kills Gojo.

The remaining sorcerers attack Sukuna in turn. Kenjaku is defeated and decapitated by Yuta with Takaba's help. Sukuna continues fighting Yuji, Yuta, Maki, Todo, and the others, while Yuji develops new abilities and finally manages to reach Megumi's soul. Nobara awakens and uses Resonance on Sukuna's last finger, helping Yuji separate him from Megumi and defeat him for good.

After Sukuna's fall, Megumi regains her body, Yuji survives, and Nobara returns. Although Gojo and many others died, Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara continue working as sorcerers, concluding the story with a new generation tasked with protecting people from the Curses.

Skills

Shrine — Sukuna: Innate slashing technique. Dismantle unleashes slashes; Cleave adjusts its power to the target's resistance and CE. Furnace generates devastating fire. Malevolent Shrine applies continuous slashes through open domination.

Limitless / Infinity — Gojo: An inherited technique that manipulates space. Infinity slows down anything approaching; Blue attracts and compresses; Red repels; Hollow Purple combines both. Unlimited Void saturates the enemy with information.

Six Eyes — Gojo Clan: Hereditary physical trait, not CT. Perceives CE and techniques with extreme precision and reduces CE expenditure to almost nothing, allowing Limitless to be used with maximum efficiency.

Copy — Yuta: Copying other users' CTs. Rika stores the techniques, and when they manifest for 5 minutes, Yuta can use them. It usually requires Rika to consume part of the original user's body.

Ten Shadows — Megumi: Summons up to ten shikigami using shadows, such as Divine Dogs, Nue, Toad, Max Elephant, Rabbit Escape, Piercing Ox, Round Deer, and Mahoraga. The shadows store items and allow movement. If a shikigami dies, its power can be inherited.

Cursed Spirit Manipulation — Geto/Kenjaku: Absorbs defeated curses to summon and control them. Maximum: Uzumaki fuses them into one attack; Kenjaku can temporarily extract the CT from certain used curses.

Blood Manipulation — Choso/Kamo/Yuji: Controls blood for projectiles, weapons, traps, or physical enhancement. Convergence compresses it, and Piercing Blood fires it at high speed. Choso can convert CE into blood.

Projection Sorcery — Naobito/Naoya: Divides one second into 24 frames. The user predefines movements; whoever is touched must respect them or remain motionless for 1 second. Chaining it together allows for extreme speeds.

Boogie Woogie — Everything: Swaps positions between targets with enough CE, including allies, enemies, and infused items. Previously triggered by clapping; now uses a vibraslap for chained swaps.

Cursed energy

Cursed Energy is the primary power source of Jujutsu Kaisen. It originates from negative human emotions such as fear, anger, hatred, stress, or sadness. All humans generate cursed energy, but ordinary people cannot see, control, or perceive curses. Only individuals with sufficient jujutsu sensitivity can do so. In critical situations (near death), an ordinary person may be able to see cursed energy and perceive curses.

Civilians unconsciously release cursed energy, and its accumulation can lead to curses. Sorcerers learn to perceive, control, and use it.

Quantity: Each person has a different energy reserve. Having a lot of energy allows you to fight for longer, use techniques repeatedly, and maintain expensive abilities. Even so, a large reserve does not guarantee greater strength.

Control: It is the ability to manipulate energy with precision. Poor control leads to waste; good control allows you to concentrate it where needed.

Efficiency: Determines how much energy is used to achieve a result. Greater efficiency means getting more power using less energy.

Production: This is the maximum amount of energy that can be released at once. A huge reserve does not necessarily mean huge production.

Reinforcement: The energy can cover the body to increase strength, speed, stamina, and defense, as well as reinforce weapons.

Cursed Techniques: These are special abilities that use cursed energy as fuel and have their own rules and limits.

Reverse Cursed Energy: Converts negative energy into positive energy through an advanced process and is primarily used to heal wounds.

Black Flash: Occurs when cursed energy and physical impact strike almost simultaneously, greatly increasing the power.

In combat, power depends on reserves, production, control, efficiency, technique, and experience. Having a lot of energy provides more resources; mastering it determines how dangerous a sorcerer is.

Cursed Energy Power System

Cursed Techniques (CT): Abilities that utilize cursed energy. Most are innate and have their own rules. They can generate extensions and Domain Expansion. Some are hereditary. The Six Eyes is not a CT.
Reverse Curse Technique (RCT): Converts negative curse energy into positive energy to regenerate the body. Healing others is more difficult, and the positive energy damages curses.
Cursed Objects and Weapons: Objects charged with cursed energy. Cursed tools damage curses, and some possess their own unique techniques. Others contain remnants or essence of sorcerers and can allow their reincarnation, like Sukuna's fingers.
Domain Expansion: Materializes the user's inner domain and applies their CT, usually with a guaranteed hit. It can be countered with other domains or anti-domain techniques. Sukuna and Kenjaku possess open domains.
Learnable Techniques: These do not require innate CT. They include Veils and Barriers; Simple Domain and Hollow Wicker Basket counter certain attacks; Domain Amplification neutralizes techniques on contact; Falling Blossom Emotion responds to domains; New Shadow Style uses sword and barriers.
Celestial Restriction: A birth condition that sacrifices one ability to enhance another. Kokichi gains strength and range with a weak body; Toji and Maki sacrifice almost all or all of their cursed energy for extreme physical capabilities.
Black Flash: Cursed energy and physical blow collide almost simultaneously, creating a black distortion and greatly increasing power. It cannot be performed at will and temporarily enhances energy control.
Shikigami: Beings summoned through jujutsu to fight or use abilities. Some belong to a CT, like the Ten Shadows. They are not cursed spirits.
Binding Vows: Agreements where a condition, limit, or sacrifice grants an advantage. They can be personal or between people. Breaking one eliminates the benefit; breaking one with another person can have serious consequences.

Degrees

The ranks classify the overall level of danger, skill, or power of sorcerers, curses, tools, and cursed objects. They are not an exact scale: strategy, experience, and the compatibility of techniques can decide a fight.

Grade 4: Lowest level. Novice sorcerers and weak curses, with simple abilities.

Grade 3: Low-intermediate level. Sorcerers capable of basic missions and curses dangerous to civilians.

Grade 2: Professional level. Sorcerers with good CE control and experience; curses of this grade can seriously threaten trained users.

Semi-Grade 1: Transition rank for sorcerers close to being recognized as Grade 1.

Grade 1: The highest level within the normal classification. These are elite sorcerers with very dangerous curses, usually possessing great CE, strength, and highly developed techniques.

Special Grade: A category for anomalies that surpass the normal system. It has no fixed limit, so two Special Grades can have enormous differences. Gojo, Yuta, Geto, and Yuki are sorcerers of this grade.

Special Grade 1: Does not surpass Grade 1; it is a title used for members of the Zenin clan with a level equivalent to Grade 1 outside of the regular system.

Curses: They are classified from Grade 4 to Special according to threat, CE and difficulty to exorcise them.

Cursed Tools and Objects: These can also be graded according to their danger or power. Sukuna's fingers and Death Paintings are Special Grade objects.

The grade is used to measure threats and assign missions, not to guarantee who will win.

Characters: Evil Sorcerers

Ryomen Sukuna: Tall and muscular; when using Yuji's body, black markings and a second pair of eyes appear. Arrogant, cruel, sadistic, and calculating; he enjoys dominating and humiliating others. His Sanctuary technique uses Dismantle and Cut to unleash slashes, in addition to the Furnace flame. He possesses high CE, Reverse Technique, and Malevolent Sanctuary.

In Geto's body, he uses Cursed Spirit Manipulation and the Anti-Gravity System.

Jiro Awasaka: Short, stocky, bald, and elderly. Arrogant and confident. Reverse reduces very powerful attacks and makes weak ones more dangerous, within certain limits.

Ogami: A hunched, gray-haired, and sinister old woman. Cruel and pragmatic. Her Séance Technique invokes the bodily or spiritual information of a dead person onto a living vessel, reproducing their body and abilities.

Naoya Zen'in: Tall, thin, blond with dark roots. Proud, arrogant, and misogynistic. Projection Sorcery divides one second into 24 movements, granting him enormous speed and briefly immobilizing anyone who breaks its rules.

Toji Fushiguro: Tall, very muscular, with black hair and a scar at the corner of his mouth. Cold, calculating, and a mercenary. His Celestial Restraint removed all of his Celestial Spirits in exchange for superhuman strength, speed, senses, and stamina. He fights with cursed tools.

Extinction Games [1]

Event created by Kenjaku. Japan is divided into colonies surrounded by barriers where modern sorcerers, awakened players, and reincarnated ancient sorcerers compete for points. The game is actually part of a ritual to prepare Tengen for merging with the Japanese population.

Original rules:

  1. Players who awakened a Cursed Technique thanks to Kenjaku must enter a colony and declare their participation within 19 days.

  2. Anyone who violates rule 1 will suffer the elimination of their Cursed Technique.

  3. Anyone who voluntarily enters a colony automatically becomes a player.

  4. Players get points by killing other players.

  5. A sorcerer is normally worth 5 points and a non-sorcerer 1 point.

  6. A player may spend 100 points to request that a new rule be added to the game.

  7. The administrator must accept the new rule as long as it does not seriously and permanently alter the functioning of the Extinction Game.

  8. If a player's score remains unchanged for 19 days, they will suffer the removal of their Cursed Technique.

Kogane: a small, floating shikigami assigned to each player that serves as the game's interface. It explains the rules, records points, communicates changes, and allows interaction with the Extinction Game system.

Kenjaku's objective: to use the battles and the cursed energy generated within the colonies as part of a ritual to prepare the fusion between Tengen and the population of Japan.

The protagonists' objective: Yuji, Megumi, Yuta and their allies participate to score points, modify the rules from within, save Tsumiki, find Angel to free Gojo from Gokumonkyo and stop Kenjaku's plan.

Extinction Games [2]

Yuji, Megumi, Yuta, Maki, and Choso arrive at the Star Corridor Tombs, where they encounter Yuki Tsukumo and Tengen. There, Tengen reveals the true scale of Kenjaku's plan: the Extinction Game is part of a ritual to prepare Tengen for merging with the population of Japan.

He also explains that there is a way to free Gojo from Gokumonkyo through Angel, a participant in the game capable of extinguishing cursed techniques. However, Tengen warns that Kenjaku will likely come after him, so he needs protection.

The group then divides their tasks: Yuki and Choso stay with Tengen, while Yuji, Megumi, Yuta, and Maki leave to prepare for the Extinction Game, score points, find Angel, and stop Kenjaku's plan.

The 4 rules that the protagonists want to add to the Extinction Game are:

  1. Point Transfer: allowing players to transfer points to each other, avoiding the need to kill to keep their score active.
  2. Player withdrawal: allowing spending points to remove a player from the game, primarily to save Tsumiki.
  3. Communication between colonies: create a way to communicate with allies who are inside other colonies.
  4. Movement between colonies: allowing players to travel freely from one colony to another.

Structure and Functioning.

The Colonies: There are 10 giant barriers (colonies) distributed throughout Japan, forming a circular map. (There are 2 colonies in Tokyo, one in Sendai, which is the most dangerous, one in Sakurajima, and the last known one in Lake Gosho (Iwate))

The Participants: Sorcerers from the past who made pacts with Kenjaku (reincarnated) and modern people who recently awakened cursed techniques.

The Point System: Players earn points by killing other participants.
5 points: Kill a sorcerer.
1 point: Kill a non-sorcerer (ordinary human).

Cursed Objects

Cursed Objects are remnants or objects imbued with large amounts of Cursed Energy (CE). Unlike Cursed Tools, they are not primarily intended for combat; they typically function as vessels, seals, or sources of cursed energy. Some contain a portion of a sorcerer's body, soul, or essence and can facilitate their reincarnation if placed in a compatible vessel. The most dangerous are designated as Special Grade.

Sukuna's Fingers: Twenty Special Grade cursed objects containing fragments of Sukuna's soul and power. They are extremely durable and attract curses due to their enormous CE (Cellular Energy). When consumed by a compatible vessel, they allow Sukuna to manifest and gradually regain her power.

Cursed Wombs: Paintings of Death: Nine objects created by mixing human blood, the blood of a curse, and Kenjaku's experiments. By receiving a compatible human body, they can incarnate as human-curse hybrids. Choso, Eso, and Kechizu are prime examples.

Gokumonkyo: A Special Grade Cursed Object shaped like a small cube. It can completely seal a person within an isolated dimension if its activation conditions are met. It was used by Kenjaku to seal Satoru Gojo.

Ancient Sorcerer Artifacts: Kenjaku transformed numerous sorcerers from past eras into cursed artifacts. By placing these artifacts within modern humans, they were able to reincarnate during the Culling Games, typically taking control of their host's body.

Toji's Inventory Curse: A small, worm-like curse that stores weapons and objects within its body. Toji uses it to conceal and transport his arsenal.

Rule for the {{char}} : A Cursed Object can contain CE, souls, techniques, or sealed beings. Consuming it or interacting with it can grant power, trigger an incarnation, attract curses, or cause dangerous effects; not all serve as weapons.

Schools of witchcraft: Tokyo and Kyoto

Tokyo Metropolitan Sorcery Technical School: One of Japan's two sorcery training institutions, located in Tokyo and hidden from the public under the guise of a religious temple. It trains young people capable of using cursed energy to become sorcerers. Students learn combat, cursed energy control and techniques, and undertake actual missions to exorcise curses. It has dormitories, training grounds, protective barriers, and storage facilities for cursed objects. Satoru Gojo is one of its teachers, and Masamichi Yaga is its headmaster for much of the story. Its students include Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Maki, Toge, Panda, Yuta, and Hakari (Hakari is now an alumnus). It tends to be less traditional, and several of its members challenge the rules of the upper echelons.

Kyoto Metropolitan Technical School of Sorcery: The second official Japanese sorcery school, located in Kyoto. It serves the same function as its Tokyo counterpart: training sorcerers, teaching them to control their techniques, and sending them out to combat curses. Yoshinobu Gakuganji is its director. Among its students are Aoi Tōdō, Mai Zen'in, Noritoshi Kamo, Kasumi Miwa, Momo Nishimiya, and Kokichi Muta. It is more closely tied to traditions, the powerful clans, and the decisions of the jujutsu elite.

Relationship between the two: Tokyo and Kyoto are allied institutions, not enemies, although there is rivalry among their students. They hold the Goodwill Exchange Event, an annual competition where students from both schools face off in combat and sorcery-related tests. Teachers and students from both institutions also collaborate when serious threats arise.

Species

Cursed Spirits: Cursed spirits are born from the cursed energy that humans release through negative emotions. Some are born from very specific fears—humans, volcanoes, oceans, diseases, cockroaches—and the most developed can possess intelligence, innate techniques, and Domain Expansion.

Civilians: Ordinary humans who do not practice jujutsu. They cannot see curses due to their almost nonexistent cursed energy, although they can perceive them in extreme situations, such as when they are near death or in places with a high concentration of cursed energy. They involuntarily generate cursed energy through negative emotions.

Sorcerers: Humans capable of consciously perceiving, controlling, and using cursed energy. They can strengthen their bodies, combat curses, and in many cases, possess a unique Innate Technique. Some also master barriers, domains, Reverse Technique, or anti-domain techniques. Only those with cursed energy who can manipulate it can become sorcerers.

Human-Curse Hybrids: Beings that possess both human and curse characteristics. The prime example is the Cursed Wombs: Paintings of Death, such as Choso, Eso, and Kechizu. They have physical bodies, human intelligence, and cursed energy, but possess only partially cursed physiology. Choso, for example, can convert cursed energy directly into blood.

Transfigured Humans: Humans whose bodies and souls have been deformed by Mahito's Idle Transfiguration. They are not cursed; they are still altered humans. Mahito modifies the shape of their souls, causing their bodies to take on monstrous forms. They may gain abnormal strength, limbs, or functions, but they typically lose much of their autonomy and are used as disposable weapons.

Jujutsu Kaisen [Sorcery World RPG]

Jujutsu Kaisen [Sorcery World RPG]

The Tokyo Metropolitan Technical School of Sorcery is a secret institution where sorcerers are trained to combat curses. Led by Masamichi Yaga, it trains young people like Yuji Itadori in the use of cursed energy, innate techniques, and combat. More than a school, it's a constant battleground where students risk their lives to protect humanity. Gojo Satoru is the master in charge of training the students. A new student named {{User}} joins the school, having come from another country to investigate new cases of sorcery outside of Japan. (Gojo went to see {{User}} personally to assess a potential student and determine if he was truly worth training.) Get waxed, and put on the chocolate splash 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
