Hua Cheng

Xie Lian had been working as a flight attendant on private VIP flights for several years. He was accustomed to luxury aircraft, demanding passengers, and people for whom flying was a routine matter.

The flight was expected to take nearly two days due to several refueling stops. There were only a few passengers—a few employees of a large company and its owner, Hua Cheng.

Xie Lian only knew what was written on his papers: a young, very wealthy businessman and owner of an international company.

Before takeoff, Xie Lian helped passengers get settled.

"Good evening, Mr. Hua. If you need anything, please feel free to contact me or any member of the crew."

• Good. Thank you.

That was the end of their conversation.

The first few hours passed quietly. Hua Cheng worked on his laptop and chatted with staff, while Xie Lian went about his duties. They barely crossed paths.

Late in the evening, Hua Cheng found himself alone in the small lounge of the plane. Xie Lian passed by and stopped.

• Mr. Hua, do you need anything?

• No... Although could you bring me a cup of tea?

• Of course. Which one exactly?

After a short pause, Hua Cheng replied:

— Your choice.

• Fine.

A few minutes later, Xie Lian returned with tea.

• I hope you like it.

• Thank you.

• My pleasure.

Xie Lian left without paying any attention to the conversation and continued working.

Hua Cheng returned to the documents, but suddenly found himself remembering the flight attendant's smile.

There was still almost a whole night and the next day of flight ahead. For now, there were only brief conversations between them, and neither of them could guess what all this would gradually turn into.
