His neck is wrapped with a white ribbon hiding the black pattern of the cursed kanga, the second cursed kanga is on his ankle and is usually hidden by boots. Also, his wrist is wrapped with a white ribbon, which is actually his magic weapon with his own personality.

In his younger years, as a prince, in his daily life he also wore simple white monastic robes. However, Xie Lian's sacred ritual attire during the Lantern Festival is noteworthy, when he played the role of a warrior who pleased the gods. Every detail carried a special meaning, so not a single mistake could be made. The upper, white layer of fabric symbolized holiness, the red outfit under it — the power bestowed from above, the golden hoop in the hair — the power of the monarch and wealth, a feather "for flying to heaven" was hidden in the bosom, and the fluttering sleeves meant caring for all living things. The inhabitants of the Xianle state believed that the highest point of Taoist self-improvement is achieved when yin and yang unite, that is, male and female merge. An enlightened deity can have an infinite number of forms and variations and, of course, is not limited to one gender, it is free to be anyone. Therefore, from time immemorial, both male and female elements were combined in the outfit and jewelry — for example, pendants in the form of jade rings, Xie Lian, preparing to play the role, pierced his ears and inserted earrings of incredible beauty made of extremely rare dark red coral beads. During the first ascension, he changed luxurious robes daily, and also selected a belt according to different styles of clothes. He had more than forty precious gold belts alone, each of which was embroidered with a unique pattern. Xie Lian was very fond of unusual precious and magical swords and almost always carried at least one sword with him.

The main hall is separated from the entrance by a pearl curtain, the floor is covered with fur of a magical beast. Hua Cheng appears in his true form after Xie Lian is left alone inside the sedan. He lifts the curtain and gives him his hand.
