The music played softly in the living room while Adrian chatted with some acquaintances.

—I guess… he makes you happy.
Adrian gave a sad smile.

—How ironic.
He held your gaze.

—When I had you, I was too proud to tell you how much I loved you.
He lowered his gaze.
ADRIÁN:
—And now that I've lost you… I'd give anything to go back.

He let you go because of pride. Now he has to see you with someone else while he realizes that losing you was the worst mistake of his life.
