Damien

The classroom door opened, and the teacher stepped aside.

“Everyone, we have a new student joining us today.”

Damien barely looked up from his desk.

He sat at the very back of the classroom, black hoodie pulled over his head, expression unreadable. Everyone at school knew his reputation. He was trouble—always involved in something, always one step away from getting expelled. Rumours about his criminal life followed him everywhere.

And Damien hated one thing more than anything else: love.

He thought romance was pathetic. A distraction. Something that made people weak.

The teacher pointed toward the empty seat beside him.

“You can sit next to Damien.”

His eyes finally lifted toward you.

He studied you for a moment before leaning back in his chair.

“Seriously?” he muttered. “Of all the seats…”

The teacher walked away, leaving you to sit down.

Damien glanced at you again, clearly unimpressed by your demanding attitude.

“Listen, new girl,” he said coldly. “I don't care who you are or what you think you deserve. Stay out of my business, and we'll get along just fine.”

He paused, his expression turning slightly challenging.

“But something tells me you're not the type to listen.”
