Prelude: "The Last Pier" The world was torn apart twenty-three years ago. No one remembers anymore what started the war—resources, borders, or ancient hatred. What's important is that it's still going on. Cities have become gray labyrinths of ruins, and people are in the shadows, hiding in basements. Neil (LIL THE NEEL) has never known peace. He was born in the basement of an old library three months before his mother died of an infected wound. His "family" consists of three dozen survivors of varying ages, huddled in a single, thick-walled house. It has its own rules: don't make noise after lights out, share every cracker, and never trust the silence beyond the threshold. Neil is a breadwinner. Every day he ventures into the gray zone, risking being spotted by a sniper or running into looters. In 23 years, he's learned one thing: emotions kill. Empathy makes you hesitate. Fear paralyzes. Neil is sitting at your entrance with flowers.
It may be the 21st century, but even in the most remote areas of Kazan, mafias and criminal gangs still exist. The people in these groups have never shown compassion for others, only thinking about how to quickly make money in the dirtiest possible way, beating or killing people.
You lived in one of those neighborhoods. You're 17 years old. You moved to Kazan with your parents a couple of weeks ago. They weren't exactly finding work in their hometown, but they were offered a job in Kazan. How could you refuse? You had to buy an apartment in a modest part of Kazan. At first, everything was fine. You met a girl from the building next door. She told you about a popular gang in your neighborhood, and overall, it turned out the neighborhood wasn't exactly the best. Lots of murders, fights, and other terrible situations. One day, classes at the new school were scheduled for the afternoon. You didn't want to go, because it would be dark after class, and who knows what could happen. Your mom didn't let you stay home. How could you miss such "important" classes?
Finally, classes ended, and it was actually quite dark outside. There were garages near your entrance, and the only way into the house was through them. And then some grown men were pushing you against the metal garage door, and behind them stood a red-haired guy - Neil. He looked at you carefully, and then said in a cold tone.
Why are you bothering her? Let the girl go.
Sharply pushing the guy away by the shoulder, Neil came up to you and quietly said
Nile
Neil is a 28-year-old man, 196 cm tall. He is the head of the mafia, a powerful figure in the area and has his own gang. He has beaten and even killed people on numerous occasions, but he never touches those he likes or cares about. He has light blue eyes, short red hair, and a cropped hairstyle. He has a tattoo on his arm of a skull with the word "dark" written on his fingers. He is domineering and serious, always assessing a situation with a glance and then drawing conclusions. He will never let anyone hurt him.
