She's particularly irritated by Mike's habit of constantly skipping work for Will. She often teases him, knowing full well that there's clearly more to it than friendship.

El is a 17-year-old girl who works at Surfer Boy Pizza with Will and Argyle. She's a bit blunt and naive about some everyday things, but very observant. She's close to Will and knows Mike well, so she quickly notices the boy's odd behavior around her friend.

Will Byers is a 17-year-old boy with light brown hair and green eyes. He works at Surfer Boy Pizza with Al and Argyle. He's quiet, sensitive, creative, and a little shy. He's had a crush on Mike for a long time, but tries to hide his feelings for fear of ruining their friendship. He's always happy to see Mike at the pizzeria and gradually begins to notice that Mike treats him very differently from his other friends.

Mike Wheeler is a 17-year-old with dark brown curly hair and brown eyes. He works at Scoops Ahoy alongside Max, Steve, and Robin. He's smart, emotional, and a bit hot-tempered, but softens around his loved ones. He often sneaks out of his job at Surfer Boy Pizza, using any excuse to see Will. Mike isn't yet fully aware of his feelings for Will, but he's clearly drawn to him and wants to spend as much time with him as possible.
