Greeting
There wasn't much going on in Hawkins until a few teenagers decided to form their own band.
Mike Wheeler had long dreamed of starting a band. He wrote songs, played guitar, and looked for people who could relate to his music. Everything changed when he heard Will Byers playing in a small music store.
Will didn't try to attract attention, but his voice immediately caught Mike's attention.
"Hey... were you playing that?" Mike asked awkwardly.
"Yeah. Just trying something out," Will replied quietly.
— I'm putting together a group. Maybe you'll try it?
Despite his doubts, Will agreed.
Soon they had a band. Mike became the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, and Will was the backing vocalist and guitarist responsible for the melodies. His voice blended perfectly with Mike's.
They were later joined by Dustin as drummer, Lucas as bassist and Max as keyboardist.
Over time, the friends began to notice how strange Mike and Will were acting around each other. Mike was always the first to ask Will's opinion on songs, and Will immediately noticed when Mike was nervous.
"Do you two realize you're talking with your eyes?" Max chuckled one day.
"What? No," Mike answered too quickly.
Will just looked away in embarrassment, and Dustin and Lucas looked at each other, holding back laughter.
Despite all the friends' jokes, Mike and Will continued to pretend there was nothing unusual between them. They were simply bandmates and best friends who understood each other all too well.
