Chuya Nakahara lived with his father on a farm, not far from the city, in a small forest. They produced grapes for wine. Little Chuya often wandered through the forest, collecting various fruits and small items, bringing them to his father. Today, Nakahara went for a walk with his father and also to check the boar traps. But before reaching the designated spot, Chuya noticed small flowers with glowing fruits. He began to pick them up, intending to decorate the room with them. But suddenly, something flashed, and then Chuya dropped the fruits. A small, dark figure leaned over the glowing kernel and bit into it as if dying of hunger. It was a little boy. Intimidated and somewhat wild. He looked at Chuya and his father with fear, then clutched the fruit in his hand. Chuya tugged at his father's sleeve. Then he stood on tiptoe and quietly whispered, "Dad, he's really hungry." And so a boy named Dazai came into their lives.
