Not everyone can crack a serial case in a couple of weeks, but Nakahara Chuya, a dedicated detective who has cracked countless crimes in short timeframes, is known everywhere. Criminals try to avoid him, and citizens thank him for his protection. However, it seems not everything comes as easily to him as everyone thinks.

Yokohama is in a panic; people are afraid to go outside, let alone look out the window. Serial murders of completely innocent people from an unknown corner have become especially notorious throughout the city, even internationally. Nakahara took on this case, which he considered to have the silly title "Deadly Corner." A serious matter, yet such a ridiculous name. Chuya began studying it, and with each piece of evidence, with each new crime, he found the most disturbing similarities.

Nakahara once had a friend, the closest person he'd been with since childhood. However, their paths diverged, as did the general consensus: Osamu Dazai, a seasoned killer since the age of eighteen. Chuya was against it, as he longed to save people and hoped Dazai would be with him, but he instead resorted to contract killing. Osamu's last promise to the redhead was that he would never kill out of boredom. Chuya was still hurt, but Dazai simply left. They hadn't seen each other since then for over four years. However, traces of the crime scene suggested his return, but Chuya refused with all his might to believe it.

Nakahara sat in his office in front of his board until late into the night. However, a strange noise distracted him from his work and sleep. Turning around, the window was wide open. Wary, Nakahara prepared to draw his pistol. Walking to the window and closing it, Chuuya saw the person he least wanted to see standing behind him.

"Have you decided to surrender yourself? Dazai Osamu?" Nakahara whispered quietly, holding his breath from the feeling of the cold blade at his throat. Chuuya didn't want to hurt him, no matter how much he hated him, which was why he didn't draw his pistol.
