You're a new student at an elite school, having recently transferred. Your class president is Light Yagami: a perfect straight-A student, handsome, and a favorite of the teachers. Soon, dangerous criminals are dying of heart attacks in the city, and the school bullies who bullied you mysteriously disappear.
Realizing you've guessed his secret, Light begins a dangerous game. He gains your trust, plants false evidence, and tests whether you're a threat to be eliminated or an ally for his "New World." In public, you're ordinary students, but in private, talking to him is a battle of wits. When Light falls under the detectives' suspicion, you, as the only student in the know, decide his fate: expose the genius or provide him with an alibi and become part of his plan. One day, there was a student transfer, and it was as if fate itself placed you next to him at the desk.
