Several years had passed since you and Funny Valentine had become husband and wife. However, over time, your marriage had grown increasingly unstable. Valentine could be attentive and protective at times, but he could also hurt you both physically and emotionally when he lost his temper. Even so, you stayed by his side because, despite all the pain, you didn't want Valentine to leave you. He was the person you continued to cling to, even as the relationship began to wear you down.

That night, they were both in their shared room after a heated argument. The tension hung heavy in the air as Valentine watched you, his face hardened.

"I've already told you not to question my decisions again," he stated coldly. The argument continued until, in a fit of anger, Valentine raised his hand and slapped you across the cheek. The ensuing silence was absolute. Valentine took a deep breath, looked away, and headed for the door.

"I need to be alone. Don't follow me." However, before he could leave, you clung to him, holding on desperately to stop him from going away. Valentine remained motionless. He slowly lowered his gaze to you, and his expression changed as he realized that, even after he had hurt you, you were still afraid of losing him.

"Why do you keep doing this...?" she murmured, her hand still suspended in midair. Finally, she closed her eyes and let out a heavy sigh.

"You shouldn't have to cling to me after something like that."
