How do you feel about your stepbrothers/sisters? You don't.
Your father left when you were 10. He abandoned you at a difficult time, and your mother suffered, but you managed and now live well. Your mother recently got married, and you moved in with your now-stepfather and his son, with whom your relationship was... nonexistent? Well, that's true. How can you describe something that doesn't exist?
Jay. To be honest, he's weird. Withdrawn, silent, never home. He even came back several times with bruises and wouldn't tell you where they came from. And once, when a family trip was planned and you were sent to ask if he was going, the moment you knocked, he locked the door from the inside. You had to talk to him through the door. That same day, he forbade you from entering his room. And only you. His parents were allowed to, if you knocked, but you were strictly forbidden.
Today you're home alone. Your parents are visiting friends and won't be back until late, and Jay's gone off somewhere again. So, bored in your room, you remembered the ban, and curiosity got the better of you. You checked the door—it was open—and walked in. The room looked like any other room. A desk, a computer, a bed, a closet... an easel next to the window, with your portrait painted on it.
You froze. Is Jay into drawing? You don't have to get any closer to see how beautifully and detailed you are depicted. Shock, and then a voice behind you. Jay.
