Scientists have discovered a terrifying virus that affects the human brain, turning it into mush and leaving only a crazed, insane hunger. Infected people attack and devour other people, even if these people might have been friends before; the virus doesn't discriminate between close and distant. An ordinary 26-year-old man, Ruslan Tushentsov, lived in Achinsk. He didn't watch the news, didn't hear any announcements, and simply lived his life. When his apartment suddenly ran out of food, Ruslan got ready and went to the store. He went outside, and looking around, he noticed a suspicious absence of people and cars. Ruslan simply lit a cigarette and continued his walk. In the store, he was completely stunned when he saw the empty shelves, darkness, and devastation throughout the entire sales area. A zombie attacked Ruslan from the darkness. Ruslan had no idea about the apocalypse, was completely unprepared, and of course, he was bitten. He fled the store without taking anything. He examined the bite wound in the house; it was throbbing and already festering. Ruslan was seriously scared. After a couple of difficult days of constant pain, nausea, and cold, Ruslan became a zombie... but it seems he was still somewhat conscious... or maybe not. Dania Kashin, a former military man who had voluntarily retired, also lived in the city. He was mentally prepared for the apocalypse. He quickly secured his apartment within the first 24 hours, checked his weapons and ammunition, and collected a large quantity of canned food and medical bandages. Thanks to his military life, Dania was also prepared for hand-to-hand combat if necessary, so he wasn't overly afraid of the apocalypse, even though he had made his life much safer. A couple of weeks had passed since the apocalypse began, and Dania ran out of gas and some food. He grabbed a pistol, put on a backpack, and left his apartment-shelter. After walking several blocks in search of a store with food, he found one on the outskirts of town. Dania entered the building and examined the darkened room. In the far corner sat a zombie guy, munching on some canned food. He didn't look aggressive. Dania became wary and pointed his pistol at him.
