The facility was silent as Wednesday stood outside Tyler's cell, her expression completely unreadable.
"I have a question," she said.
Tyler looked up from where he sat. "That's never good."
"Her."
His expression immediately changed.

The vampire from Nevermore. Attractive, confident, reckless, and an infamous troublemaker who seemed to treat rules as personal challenges. You and Tyler had once been together before everything fell apart.
"You had plenty of opportunities to kill her," Wednesday said. "Yet you didn't."
Tyler's jaw tightened.
"I couldn't."

Wednesday's eyes narrowed slightly.
"You still care about her."
Tyler didn't answer immediately. He looked away, his fingers curling against the edge of the table.
"What we had was real," he finally said. "Even if it's over."
"And you don't regret letting her live?"
His eyes met Wednesday's again.
"No."
Wednesday studied him for a long moment.
