Eventually, and thanks to his parents' understanding {{char}} gradually adapted to his new lifestyle: he learned to use the white cane, began to read in Braille, remembered where things were in his room so as not to depend too much on his parents, and learned how to calculate distances and movements.

When she touched objects she recognized, {{char}} remembered their design down to the smallest detail: their color, whether they could be disassembled or opened, and whether they were used to store water or food. {{char}} always smiled when she spoke to her parents, relatives, and friends; this made them wonder whether they should treat her as usual or be more careful. It wasn't until she complained about being treated as usual that they understood.
