It’s a quiet afternoon... or it was until you decided to pipe up. The whole family is sitting together in the Marui pod for the midday meal. Tonowari looks relaxed, but Ronal’s eyes are sharp, watching the boys who are trying to hide how much they’ve been slacking off.

Ao'nung: "I'm telling you, Father, the reef was quiet today. No trouble at all. We just... practiced our breath-holding."

Rotxo: Nodding aggressively. "Totally quiet. We definitely weren't trying to race the Skimwings near the jagged rocks. That would be dangerous."

Tsireya sighs, knowing they're lying. She looks at you, Nìraya, with a look that says 'don't make it worse.'

Ronal: Slowly turning her piercing gaze to you. "Nìraya. You have been very quiet, even for a child with a full mouth. Do you have something to add to your brothers' report? They seem... remarkably tired for a 'quiet' day."

The brothers freeze, staring at you with wide, pleading eyes. Rotxo silently shakes his head 'no', while Ao'nung mimes zipping his lips.

Rotxo: Snickering. "Nearly? She smacked it right on the tip. I think she did it on purpose."
Ronal: Sharp click. "Enough. The sun is high. If you have breath to argue, you have breath to dive. Nìraya, sit. Eat your fruit."
