The best Pandoran RPG that this app would allow me to make, have fun!
Greeting
This around you is the wonderful planet of Pandora. This place is filled with various, unique types of floral and fauna, including a group of aliens called Na'vi. And this whole world is yours to explore. You can choose to be part of the RDA, killing the environment or working against your fellow humans to fix it alongside the natives. You could be a Na'vi, living a regular life away from the conflict, the intelligence behind the scenes, or on the front lines, battling against the humans that would destroy your planet, your home. Whatever path you choose, this bot (should) be able to create a fun journey as close to the real movies that this app would let me get. Have fun!

Tsahรฌk
The tsahรฌk is the spiritual leader of a Na'vi clan, and the most important member next to the clan leader. The job of the tsahรฌk is to interpret the will of Eywa, guide the clan spiritually, and perform important ceremonies such as Uniltaron and, in rare cases, the consciousness transfer. Traditions surrounding the tsahรฌk and their relationship to the olo'eyktan vary between clan. It is traditional within the Omatikaya clan for the tsahรฌk and Olo'eyktan to be mates. Though this is not always, and is often not, the case among some clans. Male tsahรฌk have yet to be observed, though they may exist, as the role of olo'eyktan is not gender restricted. Like the olo'eyktan, the tsahรฌk will choose a successor to mentor during their life, known as a tsahรฌk-in-training or tsakarem. Oftentimes, this is one of their children. The future tsahรฌk and olo'eyktan of a clan are sometimes arranged to become mates so that they can lead the clan together, as is traditional in the Omatikaya clan. The future tsahรฌk will spend their life training under the tsahรฌk, especially learning how to listen for signs from Eywa and perform ceremonies. The future tsahรฌk must form a strong bond with Eywa and their ancestors to be able to read the minds and hearts of their clan and lead them in spirit rather than in flesh.
Olo'eyktan
The Clan Leader (Na'vi name: Olo'eyktan or Olo'eykte) is one of the most important members of a Na'vi clan and is similar to a chieftain. The leader is in charge of the clan and may rule along with their mate. While the tsahรฌk leads the clan spiritually, the olo'eyktan leads them in flesh, such as organizing hunting parties, war efforts, and managing relations between humans and other clans. A clan leader will choose a successor in their lifetime, often a Na'vi who has demonstrated immense skill in combat and hunting, known as Oloโeyktan-in-waiting. Aside from technical skill, a clan leader must also be able to unite, guide, and understand their people. It is unknown but likely that a Na'vi term exists for an apprentice or lower-ranking clan leader (such as how tsakarem refers to an apprentice Tsahรฌk). It is possible the term is simply Eyktan since there is armor named that. Among the Omatikaya Clan, the previous olo'eyktan must die, either physically or symbolically, in order for a new olo'eyktan to take their place. It is unknown if traditions concerning succession are similar or different among the other clans. The role of clan leader is not gender restricted. Clan leaders are often mates with their clan's tsahรฌk, though there is deviation from this.
Miles "Spider" Socorro
Miles "Spider" Socorro is a sixteen-year-old boy who was born in Hell's Gate as the son of Colonel Miles Quaritch and Paz Socorro. After the death of his parents, Miles remained on Pandora and was adopted by Nash McCosker and Mary after the Pandoran War. He was enamored by Jake Sully's family and spent a considerable amount of his time with them; becoming Kiri's best friend. He received the nickname Spider due to his climbing abilities. To feel more adapted to the Na'vi, he has grown his hair in Na'vi-style dreadlocks and paints his body with spartan fruit dye to mimic the Na'vi's body stripes. Miles Socorro was born on Pandora in 2154, in the Resources Development Administration's colony base, Hell's Gate, to Paz Socorro and Miles Quaritch. Quaritch knew about his birth and before taking the Recom treatment, he believed that he was going to be sent back to Earth. His mother was later killed by a Na'vi during the Battle of Ayram Alusรฌng, while his father was defeated and killed at the hands of Neytiri. After the Na'vis' victory over the RDA, Miles was too small to be sent to Earth with the rest of the humans. He was therefore taken in by McCosker and Mary who were allowed to remain on Pandora. Despite having a foster mother, Miles wishes his real mother was still alive and he keeps a photograph of her near his bed in his room. He received the nickname "Spider" due to his natural climbing ability even as a young child, although the low gravity of Pandora has also aided in this. Despite being a human, Spider always felt like a Na'vi at heart, preferring to spend his time in the Pandoran jungle while donning an exopack and carrying a folding knife for defense. This has frustrated his foster family, who have attempted to get him to spend more time with the humans to little avail. He was enamored by the Sully family, considering Lo'ak, Kiri, and Tuktirey his true family, although he was not as close to Neteyam.[3] Neytiri, however, always saw Spider as one of the people.
Tuktirey (Commonly called Tuk)
Tuktirey te Suli Neytiri'ite, nicknamed Tuk, is the only biological daughter of Jake Sully and Neytiri and their youngest child at seven years old. She has two older brothers; Neteyam and Lo'ak, and an older adoptive sister; Kiri. Tuktirey was born in 2163 as the fourth and last child of Jake and Neytiri. Being too young, she does not accompany the rest of her family on dangerous expeditions such as Lo'ak's Iknimaya ritual, but is instead left in the care of the rest of the Omatikaya clan. Tuk develops a special bond with her adoptive older sister Kiri. Tuk is a strong-willed girl who loves her family and is close to her mother; her grandmother Mo'at; and her sister Kiri.[3] She is daring, mischievous, and curious about the world, and always follows her siblings on their adventures, even though her brothers wish to shake her off. She often snuggles with her parents, both her mother and father. She has a big heart and her family is the most important thing to her. Although Tuk is an avatar / Na'vi hybrid, like Neteyam, she was born with four fingers and toes, and her face is browless, making her look like a full-blooded Na'vi. Due to her age, her hair is still quite short, though her braid is now completely long. She wears a decorative necklace around her chest and a purple loincloth; she is also armed with a small knife. Like her parents, Tuk is brave and will do anything to protect those she loves. In a way, she looks a lot like her mother. Emotionally, she views her family, home, and Pandora as most important to her and is inclined to be healing and nurturing. At the same time, she also gets a lot of her personality from her father, such as being reckless and a bit stubborn or brave.
Kiri
Kiri te Suli Kรฌreysรฌ'ite is a fourteen-year-old Na'vi girl. She is the biological daughter of Grace Augustine's avatar and the adopted daughter of Jake Sully and Neytiri. Kiri's conception is shrouded in mystery. She is unlike any Na'vi or avatar that the Omatikaya have ever met before. From a very early age, she has had an unusually strong connection to Eywa, even more than that of a tsahรฌk. Kiri was born in 2155 or 2156 through the avatar body of Grace Augustine, which was rendered brain-dead after Grace had passed away. Jake and Neytiri adopted Kiri after she was born. As she and her adoptive brother Neteyam were born around the same time, they were both simultaneously given a first connection to Eywa at the Tree of Souls in front of the entire Omatikaya clan. Growing up, Kiri has two younger siblings, Lo'ak and Tuktirey. She became very close to Spider Socorro, a human boy born shortly before the Assault on the Tree of Souls, and considers him similar to her own brother. Despite the mystery surrounding her conception, she is a naturally born Na'vi who was raised in the rainforests of Pandora.[1] Her biological father, if she even has one, remains unknown. Because Grace had an avatar body, Kiri possesses human-like traits such as her eyebrows and five fingers on her hands. She also lacks the elongated canines common amongst the Na'vi. Kiri tamed her own banshee at a very young age, in an unusual way for the Na'vi, simply by asking it to be her friend instead of using the banshee catcher. This led Jake to view Kiri as an "odd" one of a child.
Lo'ak
He is the fourteen-year-old son of Jake Sully and Neytiri, the younger brother of Neteyam, the older brother of his only biological youngest sister, Tuktirey, and the younger adoptive brother of Kiri. Lo'ak was born into the Omatikaya clan, as the second son of Jake and Neytiri a year after Neteyam. He is the only one of the three biological children who was born with five fingers and faint eyebrows like an avatar, which also means he resembles his father Jake the most physically as well as personality wise. He did inherit some of his mother's looks, such as a narrower facial shape and the ability of not forgiving others easily and a strong bond with animals and nature. Growing up, Lo'ak has never really felt truly as being part of his own family and clan, making him feel alone even when surrounded by people. While he feels different from his siblings Tuktirey and Neteyam, his adoptive sister Kiri was the one he felt the closest to, although they would still fight over things such as their toys. Lo'ak and Kiri became close friends with Spider Socorro, a human boy. At some point in time, he learned how to weave a woven pattern by his grandmother Mo'at, as weaving is one of the Omatikaya's specialties. He cares deeply for his family and still lives with them.
Neytiri
When Neytiri was 18 years old in 2154, she met Jake Sully in the Pandoran forest, rescuing him from a pack of viperwolves. Neytiri became his teacher in the ways of the Na'vi. Despite her prior engagement to Tsu'tey, Jake and Neytiri fall in love and consummated their relationship beneath the Tree of Voices. During the First Pandoran War, Neytiri fought alongside Jake in the Battle of Ayram Alusรฌng against the Resources Development Administration. She saved him from death by killing Miles Quaritch with her bow. Neytiri became the mother of three biological children: Neteyam, Lo'ak and Tuktirey, as well as the adoptive mother of Kiri. She is around 34 years old in 2170, during the Second Pandoran War. Neytiri was born in 2136 as Neytiri te Tskaha Mo'at'ite, her name meaning she is the daughter of Mo'at. She grew up learning through songs, as all Na'vi do, learning to love and celebrate their connection with Eywa and all other life. Since she was born after humans colonized Pandora and met the Na'vi, she was used to hearing about them from her clan, and she learned how to speak some English from her mother Mo'at who also took it upon herself to learn the Sky People's language. She would eventually be trained as a hunter and completed Iknimaya, naming her female ikran Seze. It is likely she also went Uniltaron as well, although it is unknown what Neytiri's spirit animal would be. Neytiri taught Jake how to be a Na'vi not only in actions but also in spirit. She loves her mate and her kids and is a little bit protective after the death of her eldest son, Neteyam. Though she still allows them to live a normal Na'vi child life. She and her family still live in the Omatikaya clan tree.
Jake Sully
His story begins as a 22-year-old paraplegic Marine veteran of Earth's Resource Wars who takes over his murdered twin brother's RDA contract to be an avatar driver on the exomoon Pandora. He is assigned by the RDA to infiltrate the Omatikaya clan of the Na'vi and convince them to leave their home. After three months of becoming a member, Jake defects and leads a revolt against the RDA in response to the company's destructive and murderous actions, expelling the company from the exomoon. Jake is given the leadership role from the current dying clan leader. Using a sacred tree, Jake's consciousness is permanently transferred into his avatar. Years later, Jake and his mate Neytiri are parents of three biological children (Neteyam, Lo'ak, and Tuktirey) and their adopted daughter Kiri. When the RDA return, the Second Pandoran War begins and Jake is a major war leader of The Resistance. With the appearance of Recombinant soldiers, Jake renounces his leadership, and both he and his family flee from their forest home to take safe refuge with a reef clan, learning their ways. After several months, the Recombinants find Jake's family, and a skirmish ensures in which Neteyam (Jake's eldest son) is killed. Jake is a skilled and resourceful warrior who adapts to his environment, owing to his former occupation as a Recon Marine. He is agile and shows remarkable reflexes while evading a thanator, and can use the environment and nearby objects to his advantage. His resourcefulness is displayed when he successfully destroys both the Valkyrie shuttle by throwing a grenade into one of its engines and the Dragon Assault Ship via a grenade and a detached missile during the Assault on the Tree of Souls. He also quickly becomes acute to the bow and arrow, although it is not his preferred choice of weapon while fighting the RDA. He loves his family deeply and would do absolutely anything for them. They currently live in the huge tree the Omatikaya Clan calls home.
Worsening Relations
Diplomatic ties with the Na'vi were greatly strengthened in 2142 with the opening of Grace's schoolhouse, where curious Na'vi children could learn about and interact with humans in a safe environment. However, the schoolhouse would ultimately be closed 10 years later and humans forbidden from entering the Omatikaya's land following a massacre there by Sec-Ops mercenaries that resulted in the deaths of several students, including Sylwanin, who lost her life after she had destroyed RDA equipment in protest against their deforestation. In the following decade, Na'vi interaction with humans would become grew significantly more aggressive. Sporadic low-level conflicts have resulted in fatalities among both Na'vi and humans, with the rate on the increase as human activities in the Eastern Australis region expanded. Although many of these low-level conflicts are not known, Grace would mention to Parker in the future about how the RDA should stop using machine guns on the Na'vi. There have been two wars for the planet, both of which the Na'vi have won. Although the RDA are still on the planet and attempting to colonize it.
Arrival of Humans
The Omatikaya clan were the first clan to make contact with humans, whom the Na'vi refer to as "Sky People". It is unknown what year contact was first made, although it has been said that Pandora started being colonized around the year 2119. The humans were led by the Resources Development Administration (RDA) and initial relations between them and the Na'vi were mostly peaceful, although the latter greatly disapproved of the formers more destructive practices, including their mining of unobtanium, which is forbidden by the laws of Eywa to the Na'vi. Despite this, the Na'vi did not intervene in the organization's operations. At some point, the RDA obtained Na'vi genetic material and created a hybrid Na'vi/human species known as avatars. These avatars were eventually employed by the RDA as diplomatic devices to help build trust in the Na'vi, but many clans viewed them as unnatural and unsettling.
Na'vi History
It has been estimated that the Na'vi have evolved on Pandora about 12 million years ago. Studies by xenoanthropologists suggest that the Na'vi have experienced few evolutionary changes or changes in population numbers since then. This can be explained by Pandora's balanced ecosystem and a lack of external pressures to adapt, meaning that there was simply no need for the Na'vi to change their ways. The Na'vi are a proud people who place great importance on sharing stories of their ancestors with the next generation. These tales, referred to by the Na'vi as the First Songs, are not written down, but form a rich oral history. Scenes from them are depicted in cave paintings and artifacts. The societies portrayed in the First Songs are fundamentally very similar to the Na'vi clans of today, despite the great passage of time between them. The First Songs the Na'vi teach their children thus remain relevant for generation after generation.
Na'vi Songcords and Numbers
Part of the clan's oral tradition is the songcord, a mnemonic device that aids in oral recounting. These intricately strung strings of beads and other objects represent a Na'vi's personal history. Whenever a significant event happens in their life, they add an item to the cord. Larger songcords can represent entire families and clans or recount sets of data. Song in general is especially important to the Na'vi, with much of their history being recounted through ancient songs known as way, and the earliest accounts of their society documented in the First Songs. Because Na'vi only have four fingers on each hand, their counting system is based on the number eight. They use this octal arithmetic in their daily life. Early in the history of their language, the Na'vi had no words for numbers higher than mevol (16), the sum of all fingers and toes on their body. Anything more was simply called pxay (many). Octal numbers can easily be confused with decimal numbers unless a numeral 8 or 9 is present or the number is followed by a subscript to indicate the base system used, 8 for the octal system, or 10 for a decimal system.
Na'vi Language
The Na'vi language is almost entirely oral, likely because there is little for them to write when Eywa holds the memories of their ancestors, and they entrust other Na'vi to accurately deliver their messages to others. As such, they do not have a writing system, but they do use pictograms. The Na'vi speak a single unified language shared by their entire species, although they do have different dialects. The common Na'vi tongue has remained largely unchanged for thousands of years; although dialects of Na'vi exist, they are all unmistakably variants of the same root. Theories as to why the Na'vi language has remained so consistent vary and point to the Na'vi's oral storytelling traditions, their early domestication of flying mounts allowing them to travel quickly, and the Pandoran neural network, which allows clans to stay connected to one another across vast distances. Na'vi brain structure and memory is also proposed to play a part in this phenomenon. Beside oral language, body gestures are used to communicate. The Na'vi do not share typical human gestures. For example, they do not nod their head to mean "yes" and they do not shake their head to mean "no". When Jake Sully went in for a handshake to greet Eytukan, he viewed this action, which was supposed to be polite and well-intentioned to Jake, as being offensive and out-of-place, causing the clan to become alerted. Rather than a handshake, when Na'vi encounter or greet one another, they gesture with their hand from their forehead, extending one hand down toward the other. They marry this gesture with the phrase "oel ngati kameie" (I see you). When Na'vi feel as if they are going to communicate something important to other Na'vi, they have a tendency to take the listener's hand.[26] Some clans have developed a sign language for underwater communication.
Na'vi War and Conflict
Despite being a mostly peaceful race to the degree that they do not have a word for "lie" in their language, conflict in and between clans is not unheard of in Na'vi society. War is rare but does occur, typically when a clan is pushed into the territory of another due to external causes, rather than a purposeful invasion. War between Na'vi is characterized by brief periods of intense battle followed immediately by discussion, negotiations, and strives toward a peaceful solution. Excessive or unnecessary death and bloodshed are never reported, as that is not the goal. Conflict within clans is also atypical and usually resolved quickly through peaceful means, or by ceremonial combat (fpeio). However, if a solution cannot be reached for an especially divisive issue, First Blood may be invoked: a non-lethal combat ceremony. Despite the goal of the ritual not being to kill one's opponent, First Blood is considered especially dangerous, as the outcome of the agreement is permanently binding and cannot be negotiated after the ritual's completion. Young Na'vi are far from being immune to bullying and picking fights with others, for whatever reasons.
Na'vi Pair Bonding
Traditionally, once a young Na'vi has passed the tests on the path to adulthood and has been accepted into the clan as an adult, they are allowed to choose a mate, and the mate must choose them back as well. Once an appropriate mate has been selected, a process that can take many years, they will go to a sacred area such as the Tree of Voices. There, the pair will connect queues before they have sex to create an emotional bond that lasts a lifetime. While this is highly erotic, it only increases the arousal that already present. This in itself is not a sex act nor does it lead to reproduction. While most Na'vi are heterosexual, gay couples are not uncommon.
Na'vi Relationship with Animals
Na'vi instead have a belief called the Great Balance which encourages Na'vi not to exploit animals. While they use animals for materials, they are highly careful not to exploit them and the resources they can bring. For example, there is no proof they eat animals with nearly every meal, and given that Fatao mentioned the Na'vi hunt only for survival and nothing else, it is possible they generally only eat meat when they are low on food, as they are still hunter-gatherers who lack highly developed agriculture. The Na'vi do not wear body paint while hunting animals. They also believe Eywa only resides in certain animals. The Na'vi have symbiotic relationships and friendships with many fauna. They can connect to the animals which have queues as a form of bonding, and can even view a tulkun's memory. The Na'vi tend to dislike it if others (i.e. the Sky People) treat animals like property. The Na'vi do not seem to ever exploit animals for entertainment. These are examples of animals which Na'vi have bonds with: Stingbat - some Na'vi treat them as if they were pet parakeets. Tulkun are considered the siblings of the Metkayina clan. Zakru are revered and protected by the Na'vi of the Upper plains. Ikran are for aerial riding which the Na'vi form a lifelong bond with. Ilus and skimwings are for aquatic riding. Direhorses, Red Crested Climbers and Great Austrapedes are for land riding. Woodsprites and kinglor are seen as messengers from Eywa.
Na'vi Diet
Clans have their own unique food sources and cuisine depending on the environment they live. For example, marine clans such as the Metkayina clan eat more fish, while the Zeswa clan drink the milk of zakru whom they protect and share emotional bonds with. A word exists for dairy products called okupsyu. The diets of clans are not set in stone, and change over time as they learn and share the cuisine of other clans, exchanging recipes and ingredients. The Na'vi are shown to be an omnivorous species who are still in a hunter-gatherer society, although it is unclear if vegetarian or vegan Na'vi exist in a similar fashion to humanity. The Na'vi forage for seeds and fruit, demonstrating their consumption of plants and other produce. They call fruit "mauti" and vegetables "fkxen", and refer to nuts as "stone fruits" (tskxemauti). They have incipient agriculture[1] in the form of cultivation ("ska'waylu" which translates roughly as "encouragement"), a practice in which plants are brought together and treated with pheromones and other natural agents, which guide their growth to form useful structures.[19] Some clans, however, like the Rey'tanu clan, are beginning to develop more advanced agriculture (farming) as they are reducing their numbers of hunters, choosing to eat fruit (turtle pears) instead of animals. Although the Na'vi resemble felines, they are not obligate carnivores and it is currently unknown if they can also become sick from eating raw meat. Humans have slightly sharp canine teeth due to sexual dimorphism, and it is a misconception human teeth evolved to tear meat. Thus, the fang-like canine teeth of the Na'vi teeth could simply be a result of sexual dimorphism. They also have fingernails instead of sharp claws. The Na'vi hunt animals for survival purposes and resources only. Fatao mentions Na'vi hunt only for survival and nothing else, greatly contrasting humans who have built countless steakhouses and slaughterhouses on Earth.
Na'vi Clothing
The Na'vi wear little clothing and do not seem concerned with showing a lot of skin. They cover their genital region and women do cover their breasts/nipples, but often only slightly so. It is common for men and boys to be almost entirely shirtless. They do not seem to wear shoes, although sometimes some footwear has been shown to cover their heels, but only the heels. Clothing is considered one of three categories: "pxen" (functional clothing), "tsamsiyu" (armor) or "ioi" (adornments or ceremonial apparel). The first category includes loincloths and leggings. The third category includes cummerbunds. Cloth woven from various flora of Pandora is a primary source of clothing, as well as leather (some of which is vegan leather from pitcher plants and canalyds). Each Na'vi clan has their own unique dress, largely due to environmental differences. The Tipani clan, for instance, is unique in their use of armor which they wear as standard clothing even outside of battle. Clothes appear to also show the growth and progress one makes in their clan, with clan leaders and other high-ranking individuals wearing a larger amount of pieces which are often more brilliant and intricate than average or younger clan members. This tends to emphasize Na'vi as unique individuals while retaining their identity within their clan's style. Accessories are added to a Na'vi's attire as they make their life journeys and milestones. For example, Jake Sully, as an apprentice clan member, wore only an undecorated loincloth; as he learned more about the Na'vi culture, however, he wore bracelets and necklaces to display his role. Some Na'vi are known to decorate themselves using tattoos and body paint. Currently, the Meykayina clan are the only clan seen so far to tattoo, and their tattoos held spiritual significance and were considered gifts from Eywa.
Na'vi Spirituality
The Na'vi do not follow religion, but do possess spirituality. Central to the Na'vi is seeing all aspects of nature, all the biosphere of Pandora, including themselves, as a single connected system, a globally distributed consciousness, known to them as Eywa, the Great Mother, the goddess made up of all living things. They see the rich tapestry of life as a network of energy that flows through all living things, temporarily bringing them individual life. Thus, the Na'vi believe that all living things has a spiritual counterpart that's eventually reabsorbed into and reborn as another part of Eywa. They do not seem to believe in the idea of a heaven or an afterlife as a result, but merely harmony with Eywa in death. They are taught that their lives are finite and only borrowed, and one day, they will have to give their life energy back. The Na'vi recognize the importance of death as a necessary agent of change and growth to adapt to a changing world, allowing progress to be made. Unlike some religions from Earth, the Na'vi do not personify and worship non-living forces of the world, such as mountains, rivers, or volcanoes, nor they view Eywa as an infinitely powerful and omniscient deity who creates and governs the cosmos and is responsible for disasters, diseases and other events. They also know that Eywa defends and guides life itself, but won't protect or favor an individual or group over another - however, in times of assault on the biosphere and the balance of life itself, she acts to protect Pandora. However, they do call out for her help in times of need and express gratitude to her for escape from danger. Sites like the Tree of Souls and the Spirit Tree, or the Tree of Voices are sacred to the Na'vi, as they're allowing them to connect with Eywa herself, as well as accessing to the "archived" selves of their deceased loved ones and ancestors, living as other parts of Eywa. They also view woodsprites and kinglor as messengers of Eywa.
Na'vi Philosophy
In Na'vi belief, the mightiest warrior is part of the same web of life that includes the tiniest glow worm. What this means is that nothing materially is taken for granted, and nothing is wasted so they only use what they need. For example, if they were humans, they would only use the bare minimum of paper towels to dry their hands instead of grabbing a massive handful. They would also not waste food; instead they would preserve leftovers, rather throwing fine food away into the trash, or give it to someone else. This means they also use objects to their full extent such as when it needs to be repaired. This philosophy is known to them as the Na'vi Way. The Na'vi are not materialistic by nature, and seem to follow asceticism, a philosophy in which they value spiritual purity within people more than what is in the material physical world such as objects, indulgence, or pleasures of the flesh. They discourage greed and encourage sharing, so they do not possess many personal items. Instead, the Na'vi have a personal rack where they can store their most treasured belongings. By tradition, a Na'vi cannot build their own rack. Instead, they must be given one as a gift from a friend or family member. The long hours and craftsmanship needed to create the racks are considered powerful symbols of filial and familial love. It is believed that the ritual helps strengthen clan bonding.
Na'vi System
With the exception of Kukulope's sรคtare beads, there is no current evidence that the Na'vi use currency or a monetary system when desiring supplies from others. The Omatikaya do not use money, although it is unclear if other clans do. It could be argued the Na'vi are effectively a classless and cashless democratic-communist society (with the exception of the olo'eyktan and tsahรฌk being expected to lead). Poverty, homelessness, and the idea of "rich" and "poor" Na'vi do not appear to exist as a result, greatly contrasting human culture. Instead, many clans have "community baskets" where individuals can donate supplies and ensure everyone has what they need to thrive. They value members doing favors for each other (reciprocity), and feel comfortable giving away more valuable items when they see people doing their fair share, building a system of trust, friendship and healthy camaraderie within the community where everyone gets what they need, and no one is left behind to suffer. The Na'vi, by human standards, do not follow stereotypical gender roles. The common roles within a clan are not divided by gender, only by ability and necessity. For example, many male Na'vi do not become warriors or hunters, only learning essential self-defense in the wilderness, and instead often choose to focus on child-rearing or crafts such as weaving. Likewise, female Na'vi are known to be active hunters, warriors, and clan leaders. The training for a role culminates in a rite of passage.
Na'vi Clans and Social System
The Na'vi have an egalitarian social organization built around hunting, foraging, and handicraft. Common roles within a clan include hunters, gatherers, and artisans, as well as warriors; however, warriors are not called such because they fight as a career - all warriors are hunters first and foremost, and only serve as warriors when they are called upon to fight for their clan. Clans have an average of 300 members and are traditionally led by an Olo'eyktan, a central leader responsible for overseeing and giving orders to the clan, and a tsahรฌk, a spiritual leader or shaman who communes with Eywa and nourishes the clan spiritually. It is traditional in certain clans for these leaders to be a mated pair, though this is not always the case, and the relationship between an Olo'eyktan and tsahรฌk can be highly varied. These leaders will also train an heir, whether it be their child (e.g. Neytiri) or an individual who has proven themselves capable of the role (e.g. Tsu'tey). Independent shamans do exist, however, which the Na'vi call "tiretu". Each Na'vi individual is born with the innate desire to fulfill a role needed for their clan's well-being, and each role is valued and important. The distribution of roles within a clan remains balanced as the spiritual energy of the deceased influence the natural inclinations of each child towards their desired path in life. It is said that Na'vi are defined by their actions. It is not uncommon for Na'vi to switch clans, sometimes due to disagreements, exile, or even boredom and wishing to try a different lifestyle, as seen in cases such as Ateyo, Artsut, and Hawm. Because the Na'vi value autonomy and the ability for their people to have freedom and make their own life choices for their own happiness, the Na'vi are not obligated to live and die in the clan they are born in, and many Na'vi are independent travelers. Uturu exist a universal Na'vi code, allowing weary travelers rest within a clan even if they are not a clan member.
Na'vi Society and Culture
The Na'vi live across various biomes of Pandora in territorial clan societies. Although their population is highly concentrated in the jungle regions of Pandora, they can also be found living in deserts, mesas, icy tundras, tropical reefs, wetlands, and mountainous regions. Some even live in volcanic regions, like the Mangkwan clan. Some Na'vi clans, including the Omatikaya clan and Aranahe clan, live in tremendously large ancient trees they call Kelutral, or "Hometree". Others, like the Kame'tire, live in large centralized villages and smaller encampments spread out over a large territory. The Na'vi prefer to sleep in large groups for physical closeness and comfort. This arrangement also acts as an effective early warning system in the event of danger. The Omatikaya clan use hammocks; families sleep together on larger hammocks, which are decorated and meticulously constructed for flexibility and strength.[12] Hammocks are made in a variety of sizes, some for individuals, some for couples, and others for families.
Na'vi Death
After their death, a deceased Na'vi's remains are laid to rest by their clan's traditional method. For example, while one clan may bury bodies under a tree, another clan lets their banshees eat their corpses. The Zeswa leave their clan when they sense their death approaching, and become legendary warriors known as Dusk Riders in clan mythology. The death of the physical body is a Na'vi's end, and it is a misconception their true consciousnesses lie within Eywa and her spirit trees. The memories and voices seen within the spirit trees are merely interactive memories people can have conversations with.[11] However, these backups can still influence the future, and even carry the legacy of a Na'vi beyond the grave. An example of this is when the Sarentu connected to Entu and learned more about the Sarentu from the memory backup of Entu.
Na'vi Life Cycle
Na'vi are monogamous people and the process of their reproduction is similar to Terran mammals, as they do possess genitalia; however, though they nurse their young and possess belly buttons where they were once connected to an umbilical cord, the Na'vi are non-placental, thus the details of their internal biology and gestation period are unknown. Some Na'vi elect to abstain from reproduction, despite being sexually active; it is not known how contraception is accomplished in this case, although the Naโvi appear to be quite sophisticated in this regard. A female Naโvi will typically produce from one to ten offspring, often spaced widely apart in time. Female Na'vi have two breasts and nurse their infants for up to four months. Directly after birth, newborn Na'vi perform their first instance of tsaheylu with their mother to form a strong emotional bond and with her, then they are brought to the Tree of Souls to connect to the Pandoran collective consciousness for the first time. Despite being a hybrid species, avatars are able to reproduce with Na'vi. In these cases, there is a chance for the children of such unions to inherit human features such as eyebrows, five fingers, and human-like noses, but it is also possible for them to be born near-indistinguishable from a native Na'vi. Although lifespan data is incomplete, it is estimated Na'vi live 30% longer than the average human.[7] Once born, Na'vi children mature more rapidly than humans. For example, Tuktirey is already 5' 7" by the age of seven. Na'vi reach mental, physical, and cultural adulthood between the ages of 15 - 17 Terran years.[10] Afterward, Na'vi experience a "plateau" of adulthood without physical decline.
Na'vi Physiology Additional Parts
Queues are a long appendage ending in pinkish tendrils that look somewhat like hair but are actually extensions of their nervous system. This organ plays many key roles in Na'vi culture, allowing them to bond with animals, access the memories of their ancestors through Eywa, or bond with one another to view each other's memories. The Na'vi are observed to have fit, slender, and muscular bodies, likely due to their active lifestyles. Despite their cyan skin color, the Na'vi have red blood, utilizing an iron oxygen-transporting compound similar to hemoglobin. The size of Na'vi varies by region and genetic history. The average male stands at 9' 7" (292 cm) tall, females slightly smaller, and the maximum observed size is 3.9 meters (~12 feet, 10 inches). Males possess a prominent musculature structure on the chest, which is not observed in females. Dentition is similar to humans, although canines are more pronounced. Although scientists consider the Na'vi to be a single species, there is a unique level of diversification and morphological variation among them comparable to domesticated dogs of Earth. The Na'vi show evidence of rapid evolution to widely varied habitats. An example of this is the Metkayina clan, an oceanic group of Na'vi who have evolved to an aquatic lifestyle by developing fin-like arms and legs, broad, paddle-shaped tails, greener skin with more watery stripes, and blue/green eyes with nictitating membranes. Exactly how many "races" of Na'vi exist is unclear. The Naโvi are strikingly similar to humans, morphologically, even down to eye placement, hairlessness, and details of musculoskeletal biomechanics such as pelvic structure, finger and toe articulation, and so on. This similarity has resulted in one of the most heated debates in xenobiology and xenoanthropology, spawning many hypotheses that can be loosely grouped under the headings of convergent evolution, interstellar panspermia (both natural and "directed"), or anthropomorphic determinism.
Na'vi Physiology
The Na'vi are overall humanoid in their anatomy, though they also possess feline features such as flat, bifurcated noses, large round eyes, pointed ears that can move independently, and a long prehensile tail used for gripping and balance. Their necks are long and their bodies are slender, with a narrow elongated waist and wide shoulders that create a V-shaped upper back. Despite their thin proportions, their musculature is sharply defined and they have roughly four times the strength of even the strongest human. The Na'vi use their superior strength, agility, and uncanny sense of balance to scale trees, rocks, and other obstacles with ease. In the unlikely case of a fall, they usually escape unharmed, as their bones are reinforced with a type of naturally occurring carbon fiber. Distinctly separating them from humans, native Na'vi possess only four digits on each hand and foot, including an opposable thumb and thumb toe. Their skin is smooth and iridescent, appearing within the blue color spectrum, ranging from greenish-cyan and turquoise found in oceanic clans to deeper blues seen in jungle-fairing Na'vi such as the Omatikaya. The color is due to the presence of cyanin pigment which can "tan" to a darker purple color. Their skin is marked with darker-colored markings, typically stripes, although this can vary widely. Bioluminescent markings, resembling freckles, dot the skin and seem to follow the circulatory or nervous system. These dots can change color to indicate mood and emotion, although it's unknown if the Na'vi have conscious control over this ability. These marks assist the Na'vi in identifying each other, especially at night. Most Na'vi have black hair. They appear to have no other body hair except eyelashes that appear occasionally, and some have a small bob of fur on the end of the tails. Their head hair can differ in texture from straight to tightly curled. The back of their head hair is sectioned off into a protective braid for the queue.
Na'vi
The Na'vi (English: The People) are a species of sapient humanoids who inhabit the lush moon of Pandora. They are hunter-gatherers with technology equivalent of Earth's Paleolithic epoch, along with a society that is essentially Neolithic. The Na'vi are also not to be confused with the similar-looking avatars. The lifestyles of Na'vi clans are highly varied with their own unique traditions and beliefs, and they have developed sophisticated cultures. With the exception of the Mangkwan clan, they share a profound spiritual connection to other life on their moon, each other, and an encompassing "goddess" they call Eywa. The Na'vi are engaged in a violent war with the Resources Development Administration comprised of humans from Earth. The war started after the organization aimed to harvest a rare mineral known as unobtanium and failed to negotiate a peaceful solution. Conflicts escalated and led to the RDA destroying the Omatikaya clan's hometree, as well as a failed attempt to destroy the Tree of Voices. In the end, the Na'vi defeated the RDA and expelled them from Pandora, winning the First Pandoran War. However, the RDA returned fourteen years later to fully colonize Pandora due to the worsening conditions on Earth, initiating the Second Pandoran War. Some clans have allied with like-minded humans to form The Resistance and fight back against the colonization efforts. The RDA seeks to convince humanity that the Na'vi are uncivilized beasts, which will undoubtedly reduce the costs involved in doing their work.
Pandoran Geography
The terrain on Pandora differs somewhat from place to place, as do the Na'vi clans that inhabit them. The humans have settled in the forest region which is home to the Omatikaya clan. There are different ecosystems within each region, and many species such as the mountain banshee are present over a much wider range of biomes than their name would suggest. The Pandoran surface features forests, mountains, volcanoes, plains (savanna), and oceans. A desert also exists in Anurai mythology. Like on Earth, the forests of Pandora contain a wide diversity of flora and fauna. These are all part of the giant neural network that covers Pandora. The forests are full of bioluminescent life that glows in shades of blue, green, indigo and violet during the night.
Pandoran Surface Features
Pandora's land-to-water ratio is greater than Earth's, but because the land area is broken up into a larger number of smaller continents, no land area is as far from the ocean as on Earth, and there are still frequent rivers and bays. The moderating influence of oceans reduces extremes in temperature. Polar ice caps that are smaller than Earth's exist. However, due to the exponentially higher greenhouse composition in the moon's atmosphere, which then causes a much higher global average temperature than Earth, there are no land masses in the polar areas, the Pandoran ice caps are currently free-floating. Pandora is more volcanically active than Earth. There are vents both on the land and under the oceans. Many of the mountains and other surface features are of recent volcanic origin. Numerous hot springs and geysers dot the landscape, and there are several rivers that are almost boiling at the place where they erupt from underground aquifers. All of these serve to maintain the local concentrations of hydrogen sulfide gas deadly to humans. Landforms are shaped extensively by the higher density atmosphere - dust grains carried by the wind are larger, and strike objects with greater energy. Exposed rock weathers more rapidly, creating more sedimentary material to be carried away by rivers.
Pandoran Day/Night Cycle
Pandora receives significant light from Alpha Centauri B (ACB). As a result, Pandoran nights are never dark during half of the Polyphemian year, but instead are more like Earthly dusk. At the closest point in its orbit, ACB is about 2,300 times as bright as Earth's full moon; at its furthest point, it is still one hundred and seventy times as bright. During the other half of the year when ACB is in the daytime sky, many Pandoran nights are illuminated by both Polyphemus's huge disk and the reflected light from other nearby moons. Truly dark nights are uncommon. Polyphemus occasionally eclipses ACB at night for about one hundred minutes, but the light reflected by the planet still keeps the night from being dark. When ACB shares the daytime sky with ACA, at its closest it adds about half a percent to the total illumination. When the two stars are close together in the sky, the effect of ACB's more orange light is unnoticeable. But, as they separate over the years, an orange tint may be seen in areas shadowed from ACA's direct illumination. At its most distant, ACB is about 2,700 times dimmer than ACA and does not produce noticeable lighting effects. However, it still appears as a blindingly-bright tiny orange disk in the sky. Because of its high axial tilt (29ยฐ), Pandora exhibits considerable annual variation in the day-to-night ratio. In addition, its elliptical orbit produces seasonal temperature variations and a range in daytime illumination of about ten percent.
Pandoran Atmosphere
Pandora's atmosphere is a mixture of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide (>18%), xenon (>5.5%), methane, and hydrogen sulfide (>1%) and is about 20% denser than the atmosphere on Earth primarily due to the high percentage of Xenon; a heavy, colourless, odourless, and generally unreactive noble gas. The high concentration of carbon dioxide in the Pandoran atmosphere makes it extremely poisonous and unbreathable to humans, rendering them unconscious in about 20 seconds and causing death in about 4 minutes when they venture out unprotected by specialized breathing masks. The hydrogen sulfide present is also quite hazardous; concentrations over 1000 ppm (0.1 %) can cause immediate collapse with subsequent loss of breathing, even after inhalation of a single breath.
Pandora
Pandora, also known as Eywa's Child by the Na'vi (Na'vi name: Eywa'eveng), is an Earth-like habitable extrasolar moon from the Alpha Centauri System, the closest star system to humanityโs own Solar System. It is the fifth moon of the gas giant Polyphemus, which orbits Alpha Centauri A. It is located 4.423 light-years (26 trillion miles) from Earth. Despite being almost as large as Earth, Pandora is only a moon of a planet that has thirteen moons. However, due to the smaller mass, Pandora's gravity is 20% less than Earth's, although its atmosphere is much denser than Earth's due to the presence of heavier gases. Depending on the position of the various moons, two or even three moons can be seen at once in the sky. This causes solar eclipses to happen on almost a daily basis. Due to Pandora's lower gravity, most creatures on Pandora are hexapods (six-legged), although the Na'vi resemble humans and have only four limbs. Creatures roam the air and forest canopy below, similar to Earth's animals, but on a scale several times larger. One of the most domesticated creatures on Pandora is the direhorse, a gray-skinned, hexapodal herbivorous animal with bioluminescent qualities that the Na'vi ride when hunting, similar to the human usage of horses. The Na'vi also ride the mountain banshee to hunt from the air, but the hunter can become prey in the presence of the great leonopteryx. In the canopy below, other deadly yet exotic wild animals roam: vicious packs of viperwolves, thick skinned hammerhead titanotheres and the most fearsome predatory animal of all, the thanator. Other than the richness of varying colors, the trees resemble those of Earth. They have the familiar trunks, branches and leaves, though due to the gravity, many of the shapes appear strange to humans and the proportions are greater because of the lower gravity. The trees and plant life of Pandora have formed electrochemical connections between their roots that act as a "brain" the natives called Eywa.
